Warranty Question

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hello all, hoping you are all well and enjoying your selling!Smiley Happy

I have a question on Warranty

If I sell an item that I originally purchased brand new (retail), and it has a warranty still applicable, where does my buyer stand with the warranty.  Do I then pass on my warranty paperwork or my receipt that came with my original purchase - to the buyer, so my buyer can use my original warranty that came with my purchase?

Thank you in advance for any information - as you can see I am more than a bit confused Woman Embarassed

Re: Warranty Question

Hello, happy new year. Smiley Happy

Mostly depends on the manufacturer as many warranties are not transferable.

If you have the warranty card with the T&C's see if you can find any details on those conditions.

Re: Warranty Question

You're welcome and to add -

If I had purchased a new item with 2 years warranty and I did not fill in the warranty card and was selling after weeks or 1 month of purchase I would suggest to potential buyers that they can fill in and send the warranty to obtain the remainder.

Had I had the item for 1 year and already lodged the warranty, I wouldn't sell the item with 1 year warranty remaining.

Even though that manufacture may do a warranty repair with any receipt holder.

I would simply sell it as is, no warranty.

Thanks kopenhagen5, Happy New Year to you too!

I was just reading through the Seller's T and Cs - had a gut feeling the non transferable thing might be the case.

Thank you again and appreciate the heads up.
