Hi All thank you for taking the time to read this.. I bought 2 items from a seller with over 3000 FB Both items were $1.50 each and $2.00 for postage each. In the discricption the seller says he is happy to combine postage. I sent 2 messages for a revised invoice and have heard nothing. Both items could be sent for $1.40 but $4.00 I dont think it is right. Now eBay have sent me 2 Messages to pay for these items and the invoice is still not revised. I only bought these on Thursday night for my grandson so why am I getting these messages 2 days after purchase?

It's a standard automated reminder eBay sends out after 48 hrs unless the seller specifically turns it off, I would ignore it and wait for a response from the seller. Try sending another message and give them the weekend to respond, if you don't hear back by Monday, try messaging them and requesting a cancellation, this may get a reaction faster.

Are you sending messages or are you using the Request Total button?
The Request Total option can be seen more easily I believe, so try that.

The seller may say they combine postage but do they say they will give you a discount? Combining just means sending in the same parcel.
If the seller has put both items on the same invoice then they have combined, if they have not given you a discount then uncombine the items and pay for each one separately, that way they will pay an extra 30c in Paypal fees and if you change the address on one of the items to a friend or relative's they will have to post separately as well.
You say both items could be sent for $1.40 but that presumably is just the stamp cost and does not include the cost of the packaging or the seller's time in selecting and preparing the items for posting,

I think you are being a little unreasonable.
You say the postage for each item is listed as $2.
I am not sure, then, why on earth you would expect both to be sent for about $1.40. when the amount for even one item is more than that.
As PJ says, $1.40 may be what you think the stamp cost is, but have you allowed for envelopes and ebay fees on postage?
I would be thinking a $3 postage fee might be more realistic.
If you don't hear from the seller, just pay for each and mark down the postage cost & communication stars if you wish.
It's true the seller should at least respond to your messages.

I thought you were a seller.
And as such, would be versed in the extra fees eBay charge.
If somebody bought 2 letter size books from me, the postage (quoted as free) would be no less. I assume you have determined what YOU consider to be the correct postage price?! Based on...
Why are you asking this question? You seem determined to find fault with the seller anyway.

the cheapest postage you will get is $2.00 if they combine postage.
What do you do? well if it was me I would just pay the $4.00 postage but I guess $2.00 means a lot to some people.

I think some people have read this wrong.
I do not expect the 2 item to be send for $1.40, When the seller combines postage as said in the description I would have expected to pay $2.50. When buyers buy from me and they buy 2, 3, 4 or more items I always combine postage as best as I can and ship as 1 parcel or large letter. But this seller is not responding to either Messages or Total Invoice. The seller should at least contact the buyer. I will wait and see if I get an payment not received message I will pay it, but they could be leaving them selves open to very low DSR's
Its the principle the description says one thing.
Thank You

That will surely then result in a defect for the seller, and what principle? over a small amount for postage surely not.
Like davewil said there are fees to consider on postage.
And did you buy these items in auction or BIN,if auction then you must of got a bargain and the seller has lost out and now you want to punish the seller for not giving you a combined postage, hello special list.

The figurines you have purchased should be able to be combined.
The seller states that they use padded bags for postage, so that is a cost on top of the post stamp charge. If the weight of the extra figure pushes the package into a higher weight range that could increase the cost. Ebay charge 10% commission on postage costs, thats an extra cost. The seller has to actually take a few minutes to find your figure, time is money.
Having said all of this the seller should respond to your messages and if advertising combined post, should do so.
The sellers feedback is excellent with perfect stars for communication and only a slight ding for post charges. It may be that they have a family emergency or work commitments and have not been able to get to the computer. It may pay to wait before getting too annoyed in case there is a reasonable explanation, given the sellers very good track record.
