What does this message from eBay mean or is it all just more hype?

I received this message today from eBay.  I am but a newish seller but for the life of me I do not understand what it means.

Nothing appears to have changed and I am still on 21 day holds despite positive buyer feedback.

Is this just hype.............

Thanks for consistently delivering exceptional service to your buyers. We're here to provide you a marketplace where you can sell with confidence. That's why we've taken the following steps during the past month to protect your account:

We've already updated your seller dashboard to reflect these changes, which are for transactions made during the past year. When we remove transaction defects, your transaction defect rate may not go down if you had transactions that received more than one defect.

We'll continue to improve our monitoring, detection systems, and policies to protect sellers like you. To see these updates, go to your seller dashboard.

yep just more useless BS

  • Removed 2 transaction defect(s) from your seller dashboard
  • Automatically set 203 of your detailed seller rating(s) to 5 stars from qualifying transactions

You try and click on qualifying transaction link and it doesn't work surprise surprise LOL

I supposedly had 2 defects removed from my account to help protect me due to 2 buyers claiming they never received the items, but there were never any buyers claiming that they never received their items so what's doing there??

Ebay is helping you for reasons that never occured lol.

BS is dead right, HBH. In the email i received from eBay yesterday they blatantly lied by saying...

Oh really? So them how come all of my DSRs are still at 4.9 then?

Why do they even bother sending out such tripe when it's obviously untrue? Am I pis$ed? You bet I am! 😞

This has to be total BS. We got the same message on one of our accounts where they claimed to have adjusted well over 100 DSR ratings. We only have a single low star for item as described on that account. So how could they have adjusted the amount they said. Clearly our already low defect rate has not changed. This is some kind of lame attempt at largesse methinks.

I agree, it is a load of bull dust.  (The kind the tumbleweeds roll around in !)

I received one this morning also :-  No Defects have been removed.  1 is due to drop off this month anyway and 2 in January (I think). I fought for months when this defective new system was instigated to have them removed, to no avail.  None of them appear on the report when I try to download it.  I've never received any Negs, Neutrals or bad Feedback, it's just pathetic.  What's really making me see red now, I still have the one I have been fighting for months to have removed, that the Buyer has stated, very clearly in a message was somehow an error - she meant to leave 5 Stars as she was very happy !!

It does seem very interesting though that there appears to be an influx of these messages being sent - or am I wrong there ?

Am just wondering, before they introduced this unfair & it appears unquestionable system, didn't they do a big sweep, so to speak and send out truck loads of these same bs messages.  Scary thought if they are actually fiddling with the broken system - how much worse might it get ?  They don't seem to have much luck 'fixing' things

All the more reason to think they are fiddling - heaven forbid the outcome !!

This is definiely like the original situation.  I had none - every time I tried to Download that wretched report, all I got was Congratulations, yet eBay reckoned I had 4 Defects !!  And I've always had full 5 Stars - 100%

Does my head in some days, so figure best just to forget about it & move forward doing the best I can Smiley Happy

I received one also.

Removed goodies I didn't have - well done eBay.

Pity it wasn't the survey.

Don't think they are game to send me that one.

Do unimagineable things to their shell pink ears.

Ice for them.

The fools at eBay sent me a sellers' survey earlier this week.

I'll be extremely surprised if they ever send me another one. Smiley LOL
