What is a reasonable time to wait for contact from a buyer?

I sold a couple of items today and sent invoices immediately after the sale with phone numbers and request to contact me regarding collection of items. Both items had bids placed by the winners in the last few minutes of the sale, so they must be aware that they've won the items. It's almost 8 hrs later and no contact from either one.

Am I being unreasonable to expect action sooner than this?

I really expected to have cash in hand today for at least one item, if not both.  I'm destitute and relying on this money to cover living expenses, so my desperation may be a little obvious here.

So, what is a reasonable time to expect contact?

I don't see anything in the T&C's to answer this.

So, thinking isn't your strong point.

no need to be rude to the posters who are trying to answer your question, how does that help?

No matter how much you jump up and down, the answer is still the same, four days until you can even think about why you haven't been paid or contacted.

Sorry but thinking obviously didn't come into it when you were listing.

If you wanted pick up and a quick turnaround you shouldn't have chosen COD as a payment method.

D stands for delivery, not collection so you have effectively agreed to deliver that boat anywhere in Australia and get the cash when you do so.

If you upset the buyer by being pushy about payment and collection they may just choose COD then if you do not deliver they will be able to report you for non performance, win an unpaid item dispute and refuse a mutual cancellation so you have the FVF to pay.

Perhaps you should have spent some time learning about ebay policies before you listed if you needed the money quick.

Berating those who point out the facts is not going to get you your payment any quicker.

I don't know what I'm doing here, I canm't edit or reply to the posts I want too. Thanks to everyone for replying. Except C&J that is. When you have trouble thinking you should stay away from the keyboard.. As I will now.

I understand the process now. Don't see the need for the attempted humour. Yes I've displayed phone number in the add and sent it with the winners email, immediately after the sale. (As clearly stated in the OP)

Again, thanks for the info..... and the judgements and advice on how I should manage my life.

And the repeating of the same things. Coz your opinion is so important.

Disregard everything I've written if you're a rational person.....

I'm cracking up and it .........&%*#$%@

Phorum Junkie, I apologise.

My post was not aimed at you. I've made a big mess here and will now shuffle off with my tail between my legs.

Can't work out how to use this forum and not in any state to engage with the trolls. I know I've come across as a troll, that's what happens when you're in my position. IE cracked.

Spike Milligan is a favourite of mine. I'll take that wise advice.

Lol there are a lot of us who post here who have disabilities and know, or learn, not to post when the meds are running rampant through our thinking processes ;-):^O;-):^O

Good on you for coming back, I for one forgive you unreservedly and hope you will come back when you are feeling better although you do need a good sense of humour, some of us refuse to take life too seriously!
