Merry Christmas, Just reflecting on my year on Ebay. I send standard post due to the low cost of my item and this was never an issue in the last 8 years. A few per year would go missing and I would replace items, no big deal but this year... with Ebays new systems - wow... the increase is crazy.. What is your greatest financial loss due to the new systems? For example I have just had to refund a customer tonight and they have the items but would not update the claim.. A loss of over $46... ๐ Thankfully I am almost flying on social media (it's taken ages) so hopefully I can move on and not a moment to soon!

I think the most upsetting thing is that as an experienced Ebayer who deals with thousands of buyers - you understand usual patterns, so the scammers stand out a mile... I find it hard to accept, espeically as some of the new systems are nonsense. Eg buyer can confirm delivery leave feedback and they still refund?

I've been lucky in that I've not had any disputes opened against me. I've had 2 non arrivals with a total cost of $29. A not as described (there was a scratch that I didn't notice), I sent a replacement. Another not as described, which I gave a partial refund of $20 as she was happy to keep the items.
Thankfully, they were all dealt with just via eBay messages. I'm sure my time will come, but so far so good for me. I know the clothing sellers have a major issue with scammers.

That is really great, yes this is clothing... ๐
I sell at a price that is low, not due to quality, but due to importers and competition, It is low enough to make tracked postage prohibitive but high enough to make the losses substantial... If you know what I mean.

I don't know what it is about the clothing buyers, but they seem to be some of the worst.......if the posts on here are anything to go by. Of course there are plenty of good ones, but there seems to be more bad ones than a lot of other categories. It's like they have this sense of entitlement and are very inflexible.

Yeah, i can tell which buyers arent' being truthfull, but my instincts mean nothing to Ebay (which is fair enough) so there is no way to fight it.
I'm more than happy to help people and not see them out of pocket, but the ones that straight out lie and think that your stupid really annoy me, but i have no choice but to bow to them. aarrhhh.

Interesting to read this. Most of my buys were clothing. I have seen some sharp practices when it came to selling...new with tags being hardly new and without, new without tags being obviously very much used...but no, it seems it is the buyers fault when these things happen.
Do I feel a sense of entitlement? Yes. I am entitled to get what I paid for, no more but definitely no less, than that.
Just to point out that tarring all (or most) is an unfair position either way. There have been amazing sellers here from whom I have bought, bought and then bought again.

We work with them to try to locate it and end up sending out a replacement item once we establish it's disappeared.
We don't believe too many of these to be scammers. We certainly don't confront them with scam accusations up front as to do so only ends up badly.
More often than not we end up with good feedback out of it too.
We sell baby headbands and wearable accessories.
It does seem from reading on here that clothing buyers appear to be the most difficult to deal with for some unknown reason.

Actually clarry, the reason is known. Clothing unlike other items available on-line, we take as very personal and trust it to be as stated, and we will like it. When it arrives, the colour is not quite right, or the design is just a bit off.
So, the motto is, if you want to feel it, size it up, inspect it, try it on, then go to a B& M Store, and you can do that.
IMPOSSIBLE to do that Buying on-line, just mission impossible.
See clarry, Reason Now Known. Problem now Solved.
