What's the best way to send an Xbox One console via Australia Post?

My suggestion would be - wrap the console in a couple of layers of bubble wrap.  Then purchase a box from Australia Post (unless you already have a suitable box).  Fill in any gaps in the box with either scraps of bubble wrap or perhaps newpaper to minimise it moving around.

Australlia Post and ebay have a deal that is probably the cheapest way for a casual seller to ship something in Australia.

Further to what Sarah said, ideally you want to have the item "floating" in the middle of the box, so put a layer of filler in first, then the item, then fill the rest of the gaps and seal it up.
