When i am selling why doesnt the time remaining count down automatically?

When I am selling an item and the listing is near  ending and I watch the page as the time is counting down the count down timer doesnt change I have to keep refreshing my page.  Why odesnt the timer work?

I seem to remember the time doesn't work for the seller, so you have to keep refreshing

When I click on your auction, I can see the timer counting down

if you want to watch, you could sign out and watch it as an observer

I noticed that too ages ago, so now I either don't watch, or just keep refreshing.

I never thought of the suggestion to sign out and watch as an observer! Great tip, thanks!

The timer does not work for sellers as eBay do not want sellers to feel any excitement at all.

I noticed the other day that the timer does work on your own listings on the phone app. The app is useless for most things, but at least you can watch the time count down!!
