Been that way for quite a long time.
A more experienced poster may be able to give the exact length of time.
Stands to reason that by listing the item for auction it becomes just that once a first bid is placed.
As there are no reserves the buy it now disappears.

It has always been this way on the Australian site.....at least since I started on ebay.
I believe some sites retain the BIN price even after a bid has been placed.

Nikbeb, I didn't see what the BIN price was but the chances are that you will sell that bike so cheap at this stage.
ebay is not what it once was.
The BIN price is not the same as a reserve price. Once you have a bidder it disappears. It always has.

It has not always been this way. I sold a couple of items at the 'but it now' price after the auction had begun. I think it is handy for a buyer to get the item at a price both the buyer and seller are happy with. Yet still allow the auction to continue if no such buyer exists.

I have been buying on ebay since 2005 and the BIN has always disappeared once the item has bids on it in all that time.
Are you sure you had it listed on the Australian site...the BIN remains on some sites.?
