I don't sell much but have never had a problem, now I've just sold a jacket, the buyer has paid the funds into Paypal, according to Tracking the parcel has been delivered, and there's a note in my PP account saying Payment pending. Funds will be released on 2 May.
What's this? I've never had this before. If the Buyer had made a complaint wouldn"t I know about it?
I've written to PP but of course don't know when I'll get an answer and was just wondering if this is the norm now?
Edited to add I haven't received any feedback yet so do PP now wait for Positive feedback?

paypal withold all new sellers payments for a short period. your not the first to have it happen and no one is happy about it. you can contact the financial ombudsman and make a formal complaint but you'll probably get your money released before its finished its investigation.

For new or casual sellers Paypal holds funds until you get some recent feedback under your belt to ensure customers are happy and to give you a chance to prove yourself as a seller. Once the item has been received and the buyer has left positive feedback, you can ring and request the fund for that transaction are released. Their rules say they will release the funds early under these circumstances, but it doesn't happen unless you ask.

Well I've been selling on and off for years all with pos feedback. So far this buyer hasn't left any feedback so what if they don't? And I'm not selling anything else for a while and to be honest doubt if I will again if this is going to happen all the time.

Perhaps if you left them feedback it might encourage them to leave return feedback, a word of warning though it's probably not a good idea to ask them for feedback or else they may not leave +ve feedback for you.
Otherwise you'll have to wait the 21days for the funds to be released.
Your 4 positive feedback for selling will not change the way Paypal holds your funds.

If you upload the tracking number into PayPal (as well as eBay), the funds will generally be automatically released within a few days of showing as delivered. They don't take feedback into account because feedback can be faked. If the tracking is showing as delivered RING them, give them the tracking number, and they will release the funds while you are on the phone.

"slaps head" Tippy..................yes if the tracking number is emailed to Paypal they should release the funds straight away, if not phone them and tell them you intend to go down the FSO route.

Oh myyyyyyy....
I got a reply from Paypal with about 10 links none of which addresses my problem, so I've written back with all the relevant details incl tracking no.
Padi I could leave feedback, no prob, she paid quickly. And no as much as I want to I won't ask for feedback, anyway as others have said that is prob not the reason why the funds are not relasedl. I am classed as a 'risky' seller from what I can gather, lol.
It's not that I 'need' the money right now, but just the principle.

I wonder if the same people complain when they order something from a seller, pay via PayPal, it doesn't arrive, and they manage to get a refund?
