I got a buyer who purchased 6 items from me but never paid them. I went to look up his/her feedback ratings, which shows that there is zero negative feedback for this ebayer. However, I noticed four negative feedback against this buyer down in the feedback list. I am confused why these negative feedbacks are not reflected in his/her ratings. Does anybody know about this?

Only feedback received in the previous 12 months counts towards a member's feedback rating. So if they have had negs more than 12 months ago, it won't show on their percentage.

yep, that's correct - a seller cannot leave a negative for a buyer
furthermore to write a negative comment with a positive rating, not only falsely inflates their score and reputation as you have experienced, it also is against ebay policy to do so and if reported is likely to be removed and action taken against the person who breached the policy - the seller
a person who does not sell on their account can never have anything but 100% feedback score
If you have a NPB - after 4 days go to the resolution centre, open a NPB dispute "I haven't received payment for an item I sold"
if the buyer does not pay within the next four days or does not reach an agreeable solution with you, close the case.
eBay will then credit your FVFs charged ion the item back to you, you have legally dissolved the contract formed so are now free to relist or offer 2nd chance offer, the buyer is prevented from leaving you feedback PLUS, they get a strike on thier account.
More than one strike can see them blocked from making any purchases from a lot of sellers (they have to have that block in place which is a voluntary option)

A buyer can't receive negative feedback for a transaction, only positive (a negative is reflected by a red dot and will affect the feedback percentage). Some sellers, however, will use a postive feedback point to write a comment about non-payment etc, but it is a breach of policy to leave a comment that conflicts with a positive rating.

eBay can remove a comment that is sufficiently negative to warrant removal if requested by a non-paying pest.
However like the buyer you note OP, most don't appear too fussed about ebay policies themselves - hence their non-payment habits.

How can your stock be messed up?
You open NPB, close in 4 days, buyer gets a strike, you add them to your BBL and relist.
Manually adjust your stock holding if you need to, which you shouldn't as the NPB will negate the sale, I am sure it doesn't happen often enought to make is a SOH problem surely.

I have recently had a similar experience where a bidder did not pay for item. This bidder had 100% positive rating but when I checked the feedback much of it was negative. This was odd as all the scores were positive and not congruemt with the actual text. I had earlier checked aother bidder and same thing, 100% positive yet many comments were exremeny negative. I spoke to an ebay worker today who told me buyers don't get a negative mark against their name as theywould not be able to buy anything??? Surely this is not correct, can someone please advise.

Open a non payment case closes in 4 days true ....but you have to allow 7 days for payment so there is a total of 11 days being mucked around. Ebay themselves do not care do not help in anyway just greedy for fees (money) the seller is left soughting out all problems. Let's be for real here yes you can get a strike agains't a buyers account but honestly do you think they care no they just open a new ebay account a start again. Ebay is full of corruption which ebay themselves no this and continue to allow on a daily basis with there pathetic service they have no sympathy for sellers when problems accure even though it is us sellers being charged ridiculous fees way over the top and now to top it off ebay has decided to dip in a bit more not happy with 2 lots of fees final value fee and paypal fee they now charge a fee on postage trying to force sellers to give free postage is there excuse what right does ebay have to try and force this ( ebay bought out paypal its the same company triple dipping on fees disgusting
