Wrong price on relisted item

I relisted an item yesterday without making any alterations to the price and it has relisted at $50 instead of $140 and someone has now purchased it.

What do I do? wear the loss or try and get them to cancel the transaction? $50 wont even cover the cost price let alone fees and postage.

This is not the first time I've a relisting glitch, last time it bumped the price up though, so I didnt sell any of them and was able to revise.

Re: Wrong price on relisted item

bsal, if I was the buyer I would hope the seller would sell to me for a price that I know is way too cheap, but if they contacted me and explained the situation, I would negotiate with the seller to reach a compromise.

Exactly the way it has turned out, he has still got a bargain, I have only lost a small amount of money. We are both happy with that.

Re: Wrong price on relisted item

Just to follow up, I received this feedback today from the buyer.

Good Ebay seller. A bit of a problem but worked through quickly and fairly!

Re: Wrong price on relisted item

You made a mistake, you handled it like a pro - IMO feedback deserved, and proof that there are 'understanding' buyers out there. Well done

Re: Wrong price on relisted item

I think most people are reasonable as long as long as the seller handles the situation well.

Of-course, there are some scammers and some nutters around, and there are disproportional numbers of post about them here.  Maybe just as well; if every member, out of the millions who just had a pleasant transaction, came here to mention it, we would never get anything done reading through it all 🙂
