Yet another weird little event on ebay listings

I was just browsing through Ending Soonest Ladies Bags.......on the second page, in the  All Items view, up came what I remember to be a white with aqua trim bag with a DOG picture in the centre of the bag....then another, and another...until I'd scrolled through about 30.  All different breeds pics per bag, but all White with Aqua trim, probably a canvas or cloth bag [I didn't take too much notice of the description].

I did go into one of the listings, & yes, it was a IN CHINA seller, so I reported them for toooo many multiple listings.

When I clicked on the Report & got to the 3rd question I realised I hadn't noted wether it was BIN or auction, so clicked the back button to check. They were BIN.

Went back in, finished the report, submitted it.

When I went back to the Ending Soonest column in Ladies Bags low & behold I couldn't even find ONE of them, is that a bit strange or what !

After taking up nearly the entire second page I couldn't site ONE bag, now no one can tell me ebay REact that quickly to multiple listings breaches !!

If they all had a different dog pic on the bag, they are different products and can have their own listing.

Why would ebay remove a listing just because you think there are too many of them.  The seller is quite entitled to list every bag that has a different picture on it.

Before interfering with another seller's listings your time would have been better spent revising your own listings before they get reported.

Firstly, f you reported the seller to ebay.com.au they will not remove the listings; you have to report the item to the country it was listed in - so I was told:-)

And, secondly, after having 80+ listings removed under the duplicate listing policy, when I finally managed to get hold of someone at ebay with half a brain, she understood what I was saying about the product.  An eye pillow is an eye pillow; it cannot be described any other way, except the fabric used, which meant my listings only had two substantial differences - picture and title.  If ebay acted on every listing that had two major differences, 75% of listings would have to be removed (just a rough guess).  Take at look at blankets, towels, sheets, bibs, eye masks, travel wallets, library bags and the list just goes on and on and on:-)

For those who think one chinese/China seller should take up an entire page in a category [they do in most anyway]  I say I hope you didn't have any listings in their category !

That is what the Multiple Variations are for, they can list say half a dozen of the bags & show half a dozen different DOG PICS to choose from, wouldn't that be fairer to those also paying to be found in a time frame & category ? A smart person would have a title outlining a few dog breeds & Other Breeds Avail. It would certainly save them some outlay for an item that has little hope of selling.

My listings are all what I claim them to be & because each one is absolutely different, not duplicates I have to list them separately, I wish I COULD do a multiple variation listing, it woulds save me a hell of a lot of time that I don't have to spare, like so many on the boards seem to have.

keysYcaps I would love you to point out the spamming in my titles ! E.G. if you are referring to Holden then you had best actually READ the listing to see why I used that word in my title etc.

Open a store if you want to list variations.

If you list multiple brands in the title, regardless of applicability, you will be open to being reported for keyword spamming.

Regardless of the justice of the case, you will get policy violations if you're reported. It's easier and more profitable to list according to the rules of the site you're selling on.

As I said Dave, all of my items are vintage, I don't have a box of chinese goodies I can open & list 100 of as a multiple, not that many aussie sellers will either after seeing the big hit on the importers of the rip off products tonight on the news !!!

A store wouldn't pay its way as I can only list sporadically being a carer.
