and then the lights went out again

So I got my hopes up but that was pretty silly.

On 8th Feb sales virtually doubled and stayed that way for 10 whole days.

I was back to the figures I was doing before Cassini and its rotten throttling algorithm:

So here I was thinking (a silly thing to do) that ebay had seen the light and had taken the brakes off.

Sales were coming through steadilly as one woud expect in a normal retail environment.

Maybe they'd decided the small sellers mattered after all?

Then it all went south again on the 18th.

I can only imagine this was a programming glitch which for once was actually in my favour.

Did anyone else notice anything similar?

Does anyone know a hacker who could make it permanent?

Oh well, back to working on the website and planning new baskets for the eggs.

This place can be so disheartening - the light at the end of the tunnel always turns out to be a train Smiley Frustrated

YES YES YES, I noticed exactly the same thing. I had a huge ten days and was joking with the wife that the lights would have to go out soon. Sure enough, a couple of days ago ...Smiley Sad....... As you say, imagine how good this place would be without throttling.

Great post, I really enjoyed the ideas behind it because I have experienced strange surges and quietness also.  Some people also suspect it's because those who criticise eBay and the fees and bad policies have their exposure reduced somewhat, but I don't believe there are any such conspiracies.

If this kind of thing was happening I reckon some moral goodie working at eBay would have exposed it by now.

I don't think it's a conspiracy, just a business practise.

If they share out the sales then we all stay on and keep paying fees.

We had a massive surge in sales for just two days this week. On Wednesday and Thursday sales almost doubled. Then today back to where they have been for the past 4-weeks.
Yes I'm afraid still keep looking for that other selling platform.
