Soo frustrating!
Another negative.
I got a refund request because the buyer says goods were damaged in the post (seeds the size of a pinhead that are extremely tough - you would need to use your nails to squish them! and they were in watertight ziplock).
I asked for photos of the damage and the envelope, and received no reply whatsoever. Sent a reminder for photo. then refunded her a week later just to end it (still no communication from her).
Then she gives me a negative - "Seller does not give enough time to communicate with buyer. Bad service overall"
Makes no sense - she didnt reply so I REFUNDED her when I didnt have to, right on the expiry date for the refund request (EBAYS date, not mine).
I asked her to revise the feedback, she wrote back right away, she said no, because I reported her to ACORN (I didnt, but if i had, sellers are well within their rights to do so), and that its not her fault that she threw them in the bin because they were damaged (still not explaining damage).
Sometimes I think buyers are on crack.
If I receive a refund request and only MESSAGE the buyer asking for photos, instead of accepting the refund by the expiry date, what happens? Does Ebay force a refund? do they step in and give a defect anyway?

I'm sure someone more knowledgeable than myself will come along with answers, but I would think if you issued refund without her opening a case you wouldn't get a Defect, but her neg will give you one anyway ???? And, come to think of it, I think I read somewhere, with this wonderful new system depending how the line of communication was started by the buyer, if you issue a refund it's an automatic defect anyway
Interesting she thinks you reported her to ACORN - how would she know/think that ? And if it wasn't you, she's no doubt a serial pest and someone else has reported her !!
I think the crack may be shared with the decision makers at ebay !!! As said 1,000's of times - the system is so flawed !!
I would suggest (as others often do) when you leave follow-up Feedback address it to the Buyer eg.
missrude (buyers ID) you did not respond to msgs (and give us a clue here also )

Yes, definitely leave a reply with an ID. There are a lot of plant sellers on here who don't need that sort of hassle. Seems to be a few buyers targeting the wrong sellers lately. Someone being accused of sending an empty box, when the package hadn't even been sent yet, now this? I'm sure I've read of others recently too.
Edited to add: dagnabit, a reply has already been left 😞
