ok, have a buyer located in mexico, and he cant get ebay to let him pay.
i'm guessing its because i have made south america and central america places i dont post to.
can i change that as a once off after an item is sold?

@*tippy*toes* wrote:As far as I know, and please someone correct me if I'm wrong, you still get charged fees on cars if they don't sell (I could be completely confused and thinking of something else).
Also, cars are not eligible for free listing promotions, so you couldn't have listed with that anyway.
it was a 'toy car' not a real car, sorry for the confusion.
a buyer from mexico (a country i had marked as 'i dont post to') bought a radio control car from me for $300 and he then began giving weird emails, first he didnt have funds to pay straight away, then he changed adresses he wanted it posted to. made me suspicious when he said ebay was blocking his payment so i contacted ebay via phone and the consultant looked at the information and decided it was best to cancel the sale as it appeared bogus.
i was under the belief i would not be charged fees for the sale because ebay decided it was bogus and cancelled.

yes, checked last 2 months, all fees paid nothing outstanding, was almost zero as only GST was owing.
the free listing no FVF have been working well.

ok, rang ebay, am now as confused as before.
i now know where they are charging me fees, 2 sales, one for $99 and 1 for $500
now the confusing bit,
fees for the $99 item $1.10
fees for the $500 item $38.00
both using the final value fee discount promo (i believe the same promo and she couldnt say it wasnt)
so in my mind if i sell 5 x the $99 item id pay $5.50 fees
but sell 1 item at $500 and its $38.00? what the??
all with an offer of pay no insert fees or FVF?
i think they screwed up but wont admit it.

Go to your My eBay and scroll to the bottom of the page to the offers and then on the top left there is History.
Click on that and then click on the promo you used,(that will bring up the numbers of the items that were in that
promo and then just check it against the $500 item).
If it's there they can't say the promo wasn't used,

thanks for that info, yep, i must have somehow listed the car on a 30% off FVF offer and not the pay no FVF by error.
why the 'consultant' didnt say that is anyones guess.
so i was wrong, but all i wanted was an explanation and it was easy when i knew where to look.
the invoice didnt say, not even with her help did i get to the fact it was a different offer to the other.
all the page she showed me said was 'FVF offer used' for both sales.
i took the $1.10 payment on the $99 sale as the going rate under the offer, seeing $38 for the $500 sale just had me scratching my head.
they really ought to print what promo is used in the invoive, not just a generic 'promo offer used'
