buyer cant pay

ok, have a buyer located in mexico, and he cant get ebay to let him pay.

i'm guessing its because i have made south america and central america places i dont post to.

can i change that as a once off after an item is sold?

You need to use the report inappropriate content link. Just say that you left identifying details in your post and could they kindly remove it please. They are usually pretty quick to do so. At least they have been when I've asked them to remove posts for me.

no messages from the buyer as yet, might be he was a scammer?

It's a common tactic from the Chinese and Russians to get past blocks by changing their primary address to one in a country you will post to. They then change back to their ordinary address.

I once agreed to sell to someone in the US but my blocks were in place even though I'd exempted them personally, so they couldn't pay on the invoice. They really wanted the item so they paid me direct through paypal. I didn't understand how it all worked so I stewed over for it a while and thought I'd lose my $130 but afterwards I understood it better.

I'd put him on your blocked list anyway but be aware he may have another ID registered in the US. I wouldn't necessarily assume they're a scammer but they often try what your buyer did because so many people won't post to their country.

so a guy who so wanted the item he sent me 4 or 5 messages trying to find a way around my blocks to pay for it has not contacted me since the sale was cancelled.

if i was a buyer who had a sale cancelled i'd at least message the seller for clarification for the cancellation.

he may still do that but its looking like i dodged a scammer.

just got my latest invoice for fees payable, they say i owe $42.

now the only sale i had that would incure fees was the car that ended up being a fake buyer. which ebay cancelled.

the $42 is about what id have paid had the sale gone thru as it wasnt a 'free of charges' listing.

but i was sure they said my fees would not be charged as it was a fake buyer.

should i ring ebay (again) or just wait and see?

ive checked in my account activity and sue enough there is the $42 charge but no where can i find what its for, its not under FEES.

just the total, $42 in red.

in your "My ebay" bit there should be a tab "Account" - in that bit should be somewhere with fees and charges breakdown. - you may have to change the date range to view earlier activity.

yes, i went there and it just shows the charge, there is nothing about what sale the charge is for, under any sub heading,

at the bottom of the page you get several sections, fees are second from left, there are no listings in any of the sections, just the $42 as current balance

As far as I know, and please someone correct me if I'm wrong, you still get charged fees on cars if they don't sell (I could be completely confused and thinking of something else).

Also, cars are not eligible for free listing promotions, so you couldn't have listed with that anyway.
