I did have 100% positive feedback till yesterday when a buyer left me a nasty negative. They bought 2 rats traps from me and as per usual i sent them straight after payment was made.
Then they said they never received them so i resent 2 more at 100% cost to me.
A few weeks later after they gave me a negative stating items never received. So these people got away with this and i cant leave a negative on them.Does this mean buyers are NEVER EVER in the wrong?..So my 100% pos feedback has been tarnished and they still have 100% positive feedback to their name.My sales will now drop..Totally unfair to sellers when they cant leave negative feedback to buyers/rorters like this.

Did you follow up with Australia Post about the lost parcels ?
So the postage cost you charge your buyers is not via a trackable means ? It seems expensive enough to cover at least a Click and Send method.
Isn't there a more humane way to get rid of rats ?

Yes to no avail.Au post does not follow up on goods sent via regular mail.Buyer had a choice of regular mail which costs me $10 due to the weight of items or for $3 more they can select registered. They selected regular which does not have a tracker #.
A more humane way?? like what poison?

You are going to get some replies that will inform you that tracking protects the seller, and therefore buyers don't need to pay for tracking unless it is included/stated in your listing postage cost (i.e. don't give them a choice).
I haven't had this ever happen to me, but after reading many threads on the boards I have decided that if it does I will refund fully and not send a replacement. A bit like "Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me".

Agree with leader. If the first parcel goes missing, why do sellers just send another one? If you are going to send another one, then at least send it by registered post so it can't go "missing".

Does not matter if buyers are wrong. You, the seller either need to be right, or be perceived to be right - which means:
double check the address you posted to - it is the paypal address, not the ebay address (not everyone knows this, and might be a reason why articals were not received if you sent them twice to the wrong address)
If you don't want to refund - and can't prove postage - then don't give buyers the option of regular post. Why should they pay $3 extra when they are protected by paypal. Registered post protects the seller. So only offer registered. Or - accept that occasionally parcels will go missing and chuck a dollar into a jar every time you post and use that as a form of self insurance.
With regard to the negative .. you can send yet another parcel via registered and ask them to revise their feedback. Or you can apply for feedback removal with ebay showing the registered post proof (they might comply). Or you can ring the post office that you sent the parcel to and ask them ... many small post offices know their customers and they might follow up for you, or perhaps the parcel is just sitting there / got wet and the address is illegible .. who knows. I wouldn't just wear it, and I wouldn't waste my thought process wanting to leave them a negative - for what? I'd be putting in some effort to make the situation right and learning from my own mistake. Ebay is difficult to navigate and knowing the rules is what will get you through, so use this as a learning process and I hope it works out for you.

How much do these traps weigh? I doubt they will be 500g, and they would definitely fit in the 500g click&send satchel. That would cost you only about $6.60 (depends on how many satchels you order), and you would at least have tracking.
of-course, you do not know that this person did receive both parcels; if they have a dishonest neighbour or the parcel contractor, it is quite possible that both were taken. It would be very unfair if you would be giving them NEG. This is precisely the reason why eBay abolished NEGs for buyers.
I would believe that some buyer would claim INR to get their money back, but I cannot see why would they then go on and also leave NEG.
I would leave follow up saying : replacement sent
