Hi, mine showed new yesterday - think the 'defect' was a fortnight old.

Saying they update weekly - so far is rubbish.

I aso have one dated 19/92013 - totally out of this current evaluation.

Positive Feedback : - Great Service. Arrived on Time. Good Value.

'Defect's' : Postage Time & Item Description.

Will shine that one up - put it up there with similar.

Yes they were updated yesterday.  I have been reviewing mine to see where I went wrong, and for the last 3 item not as described I have received the following constructive fedback to help me improve as a seller:

Excellent price, great condition, arrived instantly- highly recommended seller

I also had a buyer from the USA open an Item Not Received case 7 days after I shipped the item.  It arrived the next day and she closed the case, but the defect stays there.

yes my feedback is always positive

and then they defect

for item not as described (my advice maybe read the description)

for postage time (when most enthuse in feedback over fast delivery it takes one to defect me on behalf of Australia Post)

not sure as to which will see the end of my trading on ebay

defects or lack of sales of which seemed to decline on the introduction of this biased defect system

I can never work out who left defects. When I look up the lising that the defect was left on I may have sold several of that item and the dates never match. so I never know. I think it is a stupid system. They should put the buyers name mext to the defect to save us having to spend ages trying to work it out.

Re the postage times, I've taken to sending interstate buyers a message to give them a rough estimate of when their parcel might arrive. I always mention that it may take longer than what eBay states in the listing.

I also mention that it will more than likely arrive much sooner than my estimate, but that there have been times when it's taken that long. I think they appreciate it and so far (touch wood), I've not received any defects for postage times.

In fact, I noticed yesterday that all my stars are showing as 5/5 again!!!

just a thought when I shop online on other sites (not ebay) I find I am less judgemental in relation to the item, postage time and what not, I receive a consignment notice to say the item has been shipped, the items description is not much in text and most times there is no feedback ... shopping online outside of ebay I seem to be more trusting and have to this date had no major issues with product or service ...
I think ebay is crying wolf a bit too much and it is definitely impacting on sales ... a majority of sellers on ebay offer over and above customer service than what you would get from another site or retail outlet and the ones who do let the system down I daresay their feedback would pretty much alert buyers to avoid ... I think a buyers feedback is all that should be required in respects to a sellers creditability ... the star or defect rating is both unfair and invalid and personally I would welcome it being scrapped altogether especially as it is derived on percentages and a good seller with low volume will rate more poorly than a less to average seller who has a higher volume ... go figure ...
