You shouldn't have even contenplated asking a question like this as now all us other members will definately be thinking that you will be doing this so therefor you might not get anyone bidding on your items if/when you list them. And no you can't put a bid on your own listing that's known as shill bidding an is against ebay rules.

As ebay reckon only 5% of members ever come to the boards and only a small percentage of those would be interested in the OP's items I hardly think that is going to be a problem, talk about overkill.

No you can't! the only way you can bid/buy is if it is a BIN item

Zelly, if a seller is shill bidding it is on an auction and has nothing to do with BIN items. What part of shill BIDDING gives you the idea that it is a BIN item.
And zenremix, it is not just not recommended by ebay, it is strictly forbidden.

Sorry lyndal what I meant to say was that a freind or family member can only buy an item from you if it's a BIN item, they can't bid on your auctions even if it's with another account. And you can't bid on your own listings even with another account is what I also meant to say so sorry lyndal to have gotten you all misty eyed,Merry Xmas.
