Hi All,
I have sold an item and the buyer has requested to pick up to save on postage fees. I am happy to do this for her but I cant seem to change the postage fee to "free" now that the auction has ended. I have tried doing this by sending her an invoice with the updated amount but the option isnt there. How do I change this?
Thanks in advance for your help!

did you try sending a revised invoice with free postage? remember you don't hit recalculate (otherwise the amount pops back in again)
just preview to make sure it's right before sending

Thanks so much for your help, I was clicking on "recalculate" which is where I was going wrong!

I think the way to do it is to leave the postage amount as it is on your invoice and then underneath put in a (postage amount) or
-postage amount as seller discount. This should reduce the postage charged to nil. As suggested above don't hit the recalculate button, but preview invoice to check it is right before sending. You cannot discount postage any more than the original charge. So if postage was 8.50 then the seller discount can only be -8.50. Hope that makes sense.

or why do anything? if they are coming to pick up you don't want them to pay by paypay
they pick up, pay cash, you mark the item as paid. This works until the new fees come in.

Why would you want to send an invoice anyway? I never send them unless there is a need to combine purchases, they don't pay by the end of day 3 or they ask for one.

Totally agree. There are pitfalls if you accept a paypal payment and they come around to pick up goods.
For example can you provide a tracking number for delviery if that person decides to put a claim via paypal to get they money back under no delivery?
No.. there is a huge chance they will be successful with paypal and get their money back off you too. And have your goods. You can't prove delivery or pick up either.
Just be very careful all I can say too. If they know the cost of the item there is no need for an invoice. You can ask them to pay by cash (as a preferred method) when they examine and pick up the goods. Just my 2cents worth.
Check with Paypal too if unsure. Call them

there is NO buyer or seller protection from PayPal for pickup items. The pitfall for sellers is that PayPal payments may be subject to a credit card chargeback even months after the item has been picked up.
Take a look at this thread from a few days ago http://community.ebay.com.au/t5/Selling-on-eBay/a-buyer-has-requested-a-chargeback-from-paypal-for-a... where such a situation has happened to a seller.
The claim is not through PayPal for Item Not Received or Not As Described, it is instigated by the cardholder of the card that funded the payment, and is done through the card issuing bank with the funds coming from the seller via Paypal if the chargeback claim is successful.
Payment by cash-on-pickup after inspection is the safest payment option for sellers for pickup items. Make sure it is clearly stated in the description that payment for pickup items is to be by cash.

If you do that then you risk your listing being reported and removed.
If a buyer insists on paying with Paypal for a pck up item insist that they show you photo id containing their address and take a photocopy along with getting them to sign a receipt to say they have collected the goods. You can also take down their rego.
If there is a banlk chargeback after that you make sure you let the buyer know that you are taking all their details to the police.

okay, make it "Preferred payment for pickup items is cash". You can state a preference.
