the current sold prices of vintage and antique jewellery etc are so woeful (that's assuming it actually sells) we may just as well stand outside the shopping center and give it away.

There are a few Vintage and Antique Buy, Swap and Sell sites on Facebook. Most are set up for local areas, but outsiders are always welcomed as most people are willing to post and the buyer is happy to pay postage. I've seen things go for obscene prices on there. Might be worth a look. If you're not on Facebook, it might be worth opening an account. Yes, it does have a few bad points, but the good far outweighs the bad.
