dismal sales again

Ebay used to be pretty good for a couple of years then I had a bad few months last year, then sales and views picked up.I have spent hundreds of dollars on lovely new stock, my prices are very fair. but lately sales have suddenly dropped off again .I was trading at about 60% of this time last year, but now about 30% anyone else feeling left out ?

Re: dismal sales again

I'm hoping with all the 100% rain this weekend and onto tues? in sydney / NSW it would encourage not only the garden to grow but some online sales.... but so far only one littlie from Canada....... & looking at westfield crowds today people still prefer bricks & mortar

Re: dismal sales again

I have been following this topic and see most people posting are stores owners like my self. The point is one person doing it will not work but if we all close our stores for a while. That would cost Ebay big dollars per month. Dont List other than the Freebies. I will do it if others will follow. I will watch and see who agrees

Re: dismal sales again

I certainly don't agree.

I have no intention of letting 1300+ items drop into unsold simply to prove a point I don't agree with.

If you were fair dinkum, you'd shut up shop and go to another site.

Dave you are always a hard person to get through to But I have shut my store in protest against eBay turning off lights, It is time we got together. If everyone that has a store canceled for 1 Month eBay would lose millions. Please dont come back at me with big words that I and others dont understand you are  human "I hope" like the rest of us. CLOSE YOUR STORE NOW AND HELP THE CAUSE

Re: dismal sales again

Okay words you can understand -

NO

NO

NO

I get throttled like everybody else. I still make sales. I don't care to cut my nose off to spite my face. If I had an issue I wouldn't take token action, I would stop selling on eBay.

I don't have an issue, I WILL NOT be closing my store as I cover the cost of it in the first couple of days of the billing month.

You have an issue. It is up to you to take what you deem appropriate action.

Simple enough for you?

Re: dismal sales again

Given only a very small amount of members come to the forums, it would be a pointless protest. Lets say there are 500 store sellers who visit here. They all agree to close their store for 3 months. What eBay would lose in that 3 months wouldn't even register on their radar. The only way for it to work would be to get every store seller in the world on side. Not going to happen.

Re: dismal sales again

The only thing shutting your store or account will do will cost you what precious little sales that are coming through. And if you paid for any listings or a store account, eBay won't refund you either.

My Store will run until the end of the month as it has been paid for in advance and I will still receive my free listings 400 of them

CLOSE YOUR STORE NOW AND HELP THE CAUSE

-------------------------

I don't have a store so i can't close anything, but if you want to achieve anything,  you would need to do it properly.

Firstly, you would need to get a lot of aussie ebay store owners onside. Not all, but enough of a % that it would make some impact or generate some bad publicity.

You would need publicity-ebay would need to know what you were doing and why.

You would need media publicity.

You would need to be co-ordinated-all go out pretty much together.

Unfortunately, I think if only a handful of people do it, you won't achieve anything. Ebay would lose your fees but I'm not sure they would lose all the fees, in that some buyers who may have bought off one of you might still buy but just from a different seller.
