eBAY charging GST

one of my customers was charged gst today, the 19th of August - would anybody know what's going on; it'll be very difficult to conduct business on ebay if they start charging our customers without any warning or explanation;

multiple threads have now been started about this very issue....you are not alone, and no-one here has been able to advise........eBay glitch/error.

Try doing a 'live chat' with them tomorrow??

I added one of your items to the cart and there is no gst amounts added when I go to pay.

Is your buyer registered in Australia on their feedback page.

So far as I see GST issue is confined - in my case - to sales made last night.  Invoices I sent for sales made today were fine; but when I re-sent today the invoice from last night the buyer said " Unfortunately it is still adding GST & showing a Total $138.60 at checkout. Another time it shows a $100 + Postage of $48 & with a Total of $126??? but when I go to Pay it reverts back to charging GST with a Total to Pay $138.60" (Total should be $100 +$ 26 postage). I will try re-sending invoice one more time tomorrow - if the problem still occurs I will just ask them to pay and will refund the $12 GST. If it is just a one-off glitch I feel it is hardly worth my struggling with an eBay chat.

You’re being too nice; you shouldn’t be out any cost involved in eBay’s errors. (But I can imagine how frustrating it is trying to get eBay CS reps to realise what the issue is, pass you to a supervisor, and explain all over again, and get them to acknowledge the issue…)

This may have been fixed. My seller has just paid me on an invoice which previously had GST added - he told me when he went to pay this time it went through without GST as normal. So either issue new invoices to your buyers, or even just ask them to try and pay again, and see if  when they pay the GST has disappeared, as happened to my buyer. Whew.

So there was no need for me to be too nice 😀
