Not really an eBay topic, but something different won't hurt, I'm sure.
I'd been working pretty hard on some eBay bugs and issues, just 'stuff' really, and was looking forward to a well earned break to watch the CGanes opening ceremony.
I did, but only for a short time. I returned to my puter and eBay. eBay was more interesting, in a very mind numbing and boring sort of way. But nonetheless eBay won the ratings for me.
Well done. Chalk one up to you eBay!! 🙂

Ebay used to be very interesting when there was a large range of sellers of the rare and exotic. I used to spend hours trawling through the listings and picked up some very rare gems. ( If I could outbid all of the other people doing the same..... )
I well remember setting an alarm and getting up in the middle of the night to place a last minute bid on a rare international item and watching the bids roll in at the end of an auction. The frantic scramble to get another bid on in the last few seconds if you where outbid.... ( Yeah I know I should have put more on to start with, but I thought my first bid was heaps and I REALLY WANT IT !!!! ) Great fun.
NOW ........ ????

Haha!! My point exactly, and it beat the opening ceremony 🙂

Remember those days well Chameleon and it was exactly like that. And it was a lot of fun for both seller and buyer alike. But, no more. There's been a big shift in the pendulum and today it can be a hostile environment at times and some policy propagates that, and does border on the ridiculous.
Oh, the games will be ok. It was just the opening that was off. I'm just getting old and cranky I think - a bit tired of all the snowflakey, Holier than Thou, PC pandering.
People overseas especially, get the wrong idea of this wonderful place (I have travelled a lot), simply because of the way 'the experts' present and portray us, our lifestyle and culture.
That aside though, it was simply droll (most) and bats**t boring. But, you watch. Someone will receive high acclaim for it.
Gawd! I'd better get back to work!
