eBay not recognizing my new Paypal account

Hi, I’m trying to sell something for first time on eBay. Have set up a new Paypal account (have logged on to Paypal and have confirmed account), yet eBay keeps saying my email address is not recognized with a Paypal account! Wasted hours on this today, very annoying for a first attempt to utilize this service!

did you set up the PayPal account to sell (receive funds) after establishing the account?

You also need to arrange for how your eBay fees will be paid, kind of like setting up a direct debit from your PayPal.
