eBay's postage fee... here we go again!

Hello to everybody who might happen to read this.

I only use this account to browse on ebay to get an idea of prices for items I list elsewhere.

I'll never sell or buy on ebay ever again due to their illegal postage fee.

I know this has been covered so many times and I know there's been so much information and links to the relevant websites, but the following information and link to the ACCC website proves in a nutshell (as far as I'm concerned) that what they do from profiting from a service they don't provide is illegal as much as ACCC or any organisation does nothing about - so it's up to the individual to take a stance against them just like I have, but instead of rambling on about what I'm doing on behalf of all Australian ebay users and to make ebay pay back every cent they've stolen... here's the information and link to the ACCC website:

The Australian consumer law prohibits businesses from misleading consumers (ie: their illegal postage fee should be displayed next to the postage cost just as GST has to be displayed).  It also prohibits them from accepting payment (for products and/or services) if they do not intend to supply (those same products and/or services).

http://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/sales-delivery/non-delivery-of-products-services

I'll leave that with yourselves and whether you take a stance against them too is totally up to yourselves.  Everyone knows (or should know) that this place if "rife" with unfair business practices and policies, but when they conduct in illegal activities and decide to steal money from the very people who make them money then that's my justification for my own stance against them.

Cheers!

Yes we all need to keep up the good work and posting with letter postage as you know AP have lost billions of dollars because of the lack of letters being posted.

well i dont think so   how long has this policy been out and is it hidden from any one of 1,000,000 ebayers or there abouts , so they are not hiding anything like the v w car company.

its just like the gov charging gst tax on another tax   ala petrol  cigs  wine  and so .   law is not simple thats why there are thousands of books out there . if it was that simple we would have no courts or judges. but thers the this applies if this and that are met.

The "best" crimes are when no one knows it happened. and bank on it. I don't mean that in a sick way., just business.

joeth, if you are asking about any eBay policy I can name two:

ONE - there was an eBay policy introduced that said basically that you could not add text or borders to photos that appeared as listing photos (not talking about description photos here).  There was a later announcement that effectively rescinded that policy as eBay declared that they will not enforce the text and border policy.

TWO - the policy of 'defects' is being changed with a start date of 20th Feb 2016.  Negatives, neutrals and low DSRs will no longer count towards a seller's defect count     http://www2.ebay.com/aw/au/201509.shtml

So, eBay have been known to change unpopular policies . . . . . although I think the picture policy was simply an unworkable beast and they realised it.

what I would like to see from eBay on the postage fee front is that they cap the fee payable on International Postage.  If they capped it at maximum $2 then I think they would have a lot of happy sellers, but to leave it at 9.9% of the international rates is just discouraging sellers from posting overseas.

This post goes out to no one in particular ..

I assure you that ebays cut rate postage on 500gm and 3Kg parcel post is not a loss leader .. ebay has negotiated a contract with auspost on this and I imagine the contract would be at least 60% to 50% of actual cost thus for each transaction involving ebay special parcel rate ebay are in fact making a very substantial profit .. for all other rates of postage ebay pockets 10% above and beyond what it costs us .. absolutely no compensatory rates available for international postage and calculated domestic postage or letter rate for the plebians just an absolute outrageous additional 10% whacked on by ebay for our already extortionate postage rates .. the ACCC has a lot to answer to eg Oil is back to less than $50 per barrel and yet we are paying the same for petrol as when oil was $70 - $100 per barrel .. this example is a plain cut example of collusion and price fixing and well within the charter of the ACCC to do something about it .. am over trying to explain what is going on .. plain and simple we are being robbed and the ACCC is meant to stop that happening but does absolutely nothing .. we are not the smart country just dummying down rapidly to a dog eat dog scenario with zero regulation of anything and our politicians and corporate lobbiests wait patiently and demonically for the old ones who know better to die off so that "they" can have their way with the next generation (your children and grand children) .. all the while they "wait" they apply the heat incrementally .. we are now on broil setting .. when the time is right we will be set to boil .. many will slip between the cracks and will not be able to cope .. I am just the canary in the coal mine .. prepare or ignore at your own peril ..

I have been told by an excellent inside source that everthing that you have said is about to all happen next year, this country of ours is going to go on a downward spiral very fast most probably another recession on a larger scale than previous recessions.
