Its my understanding that ebay australia is now a dying platform and no longer has any growth potential.
This is relevant by the poor customer support, and lack of dedicated customer support.
They have a call back system instead of a dedicated call centre, as its allows them to provide extremely low quality service at an extremely cheap price.
There are no longer physical buildings or further development, with everything going into the online nothingness.
Just a warning to get out while you can

Amazon, will drive the nail into the ebay coffin. 2 day delivery with FBA. Ebay failed to see the the direction of online shopping and demand of better service for both seller and buyer.

At the moment, I don't think it will. They are very different. I have shopped at both.
1. Amazon doesn't necessarily give free shipping nor ultra quick shipping. Sometimes they offer a month's free trial of Amazon prime or whatever it is called, but otherwise you pay normal postage and face a wait of 5-6 days.
I think when an item is covered by ebay plus, the seller sends express too so they are similar in that regard although most items on ebay are not covered by ebay plus.
2. The problem with Amazon is it might be amazing in US, but over here, it just doesn't have the range of stock. Not yet.
Maybe one day. But at the moment, say you look up a pram, it is just as likely to be located in USA.
Or maybe you look up a book or some craft material. Located US and not available to Australia.
That happened to me time after time and was frustrating so I gave up on Amazon for ages, made it my last port of call.
3. Amazon doesn't carry some items at all. Or not that I can find. And their search function is ultra annoying. A year or so ago I was looking up a specific book title and Amazon gave me rubbish results, some of which had no words in common with my search. I just replicated the same search and although the Amazon results are at least picking up on some key words now, it is still an exercise in frustration. The result with ebay is a bit that way too but the main difference is in the first result. Ebay has the book, Amazon hasn't.
I have found the exact same thing with some craft materials. Ebay has a range, Amazon hasn't. I'll show you my book search results.
You might say, oh you should have put the title in inverted commas or whatever, but buyers just want to type in ther search words and get results that match what they are asking for.

What I would guess is a lot of younger people are trying out Amazon rather than ebay. My son can be a bit like that. I was giving my son and his wife a pram and my son looked it up on Amazon. It had to come from USA and was something like $40 postage. I put my foot down and said I didn't want to get it from US, too many hassles with warranty etc so we looked up other sites here. Bricks and mortar shops. And guess what. We got it slightly cheaper from a shop just 20 mins down the road (although I paid the $10 for postage to save the trip). And it arrived within the week. So nowadays, my son is more inclined to look at other sites too before he buys from Amazon.

eBay All The Way! from now on.
A few days ago my yearly subscription ran out for Amazon Prime, and that's the end of this vendor for me.
I waited 6 weeks (2 weeks delivery clearly stated) for an expensive Airfix model kit, only for it to arrive crushed nearly flat, and it wasn't even in its 'travel box' that Airfix uses to ensure safe transport internationally! They removed this box and used a 'very thin' and useless Amazon box instead.
And instead of an apology, all I got was a rude email explaining how to use the refund system, my god! it was from the UK, and I really wanted that kit 😞 well, long story short, this was the third time this year that Amazon had delivered a trashed product, so now I'm eBay AU all the way and there is NO way that this company will collapse just because Amazon is trying to muscle other vendors here in Australia. Most of us remember when we get the **bleep** end of the stick.
