I have had a 2 of these in the last couple of days for INR.

The first one I responded with I am happy to refund or resend and didn't hear anything from the buyer, it took about 2 days for the defect to show on my record. I decided just to refund as I heard nothing and it stated that the buyer can get ebay to step in after 4 days (ebays policy actually says 3 days).

Then I get an email from ebay after refunding that:"This request won't count against you when determining your seller standing. You can view the details of this request in the Resolution Centre."For a start I didn't request anything and I already have a defect beacuse the buyer "open a case", any more defects would only count as the one anyway.I also got one of these "ebay has protected your account" emails the other day telling me they have increased some ratings to 5 stars. Thanks ebay for giving me 5 stars for postage cost when it is a free post item.

You automatically get 5 stars if it is listed as free post. Did you have tracking and if so did you tell ebay that? If you didn't have tracking then it is a risk you take, if I could replace I would have sent a replacement straight away with tracking and have told ebay the number and that they should wait until it says delivered. If ebay told you that you would not get a defect ring them up and ask them wh I was under the inpression hy you have been given one although I thought you automatically got one for an item not received if you could not prove delivery regardless of if you refunded or not.

I have had 7 defects from 3 buyers for INR on one of my accounts even though the buyers did receive the items, ebay told me that I can only have 8 defects from 5 buyers so I said fair enough but how does ebay justify the fact that the buyers did receive the items because I sent them registered and it showed as delivered on all of them.

All the postage was free post and I'm 100%  positive that the items I sent were as described and my communication was spot on and the buyers received the items within 3 days.

So the buyer can just lie about everything and bam you have a defect or in my case 7 defects, wake up ebay and sort this ridiculous defect system out or it's goodbye from me.

Out of curiosity, what do your defects for the MBG cases show as? I received my first request the other night, refunded immediately, got the message that it won't count against me, but now I have a defect for a cancelled transaction. I haven't cancelled any transactions except via UPI cases or "buyer changed mind" (and the last one of those was a couple of weeks ago), and although I've issued a few partial refunds for excess postage and the like, the only full refund I've issued is via the request. o_O

I had a buyer request a cancellation because she didn't have enough money in her accounts. I sent her the request using the 'other' option as I've heard of too many people getting defected for buyer changed mind. She accepted within 2 minutes and so far I don't have a defect for it. There was no refund though as she hadn't paid.

The defect system seems to be getting more defective all the time!

If the cancelled transaction is for the request refund, I'm going to be pretty miffed (more so than I am already, anyway). The whole system is geared towards giving the buyer a refund if they have any kind of problem, so that's exactly what I did.

The buyer actually sent a message within the request, though, and appeared to be requesting the item over a refund (so maybe that's why the transaction was considered "cancelled"), but the content of their message made me pretty darn mad, so I wasn't having any of it and just refunded (basically, they were under the impression I never sent their purchase, and seemed to think through December I just decided to keep my store open and take orders, but have an unannounced holiday and not send anything - can't possibly understand why they thought that, but they did tell me what I "should" have done).

Thankfully, so far everyone else who has needed to contact me about an issue with an order hasn't used the eBay request system.

under ebays system it seems that they just want a refund. There is no function to do a resend. I would prefer to do a resend but ebay specifically state in their policy that orders need to be delivered on time. If I resent there is nothing stopping the buyer from still making a claim. I would also still need to prove actual delivery.

As far as Im concerned ebay owe me about $15

thats the silly thing. For some reason they want to blame the seller for the delivery companies stuff up. It is Australia Post...It aint no fedex with a smily face on a coconut.

I got it as a defect for INR case opened.

Also the second order that someone is saying they never received they must have to open a seperate case for each item in a bulk order. As it stands now I can refund a buyers single item, but what about the rest of the order?
