In regards to the decline of ebay for sellers of a certain size
I am one of them
I have just sent a message to Quicksales asking them to lift their game so they can attract more of us and hence more buyers.
They have many good points they can sell themselves on v ebay
They pay tax
They are cheap
They are Australian
I would like to suggest any disgruntled sellers do the same - let them know there are enough of us out there to make it worth their while to promote themselves more, and make a genuine effort v ebay
ebay don't want us, so we don't have alot of choice
Discuss
Robert

I have also sent a message to QS asking them to lift their game and give us sellers a real viable alternative to ebay in Australia.
I think if lots of us send them a similar message just maybe they will get it and do something about it.

I've been on Quicksales for 8 years and sold about $1000 worth of small items in that time. I always thought of it as having an eBay shop but WITHOUT THE FEES! (there used to be fees for a sale)
Problem is..... few people know it exists. Vastly superior site to list on than this joke, much better picture set up etc.
It really is a great site but again few people know it exists but in saying that the Sheeple have been conditioned to fear anything that isn't eBay/Paypal.... yes I take PP on there as do many others. I also put down the lack of buyers to the sheer laziness of people to register an account... those that happen across the site that is ๐
Theres plenty of ++++ in Quicksales for the seller but whats in it for the buyer?

I recently listed some things on QS (saw it mentioned here on this board).
Here are my perceptions.
-it has real possibilities
-There are some confusing things when you join up but they could be ironed out
-there are not many buyers browsing it
One really impressive thing (from my point of view) is quicksales sends a very easy to read table in an email every week, to outline the status of your items.
It lists the item for sale, date it was put on, how many have viewed it and so on.
What I am finding though is I am getting very, very few views and I have had no sales.
They need to advertise-perhaps on radio in non peak times or in local newspapers.
Local newspapers have priced themselves out of the market for the casual seller, as my sister and I found out when thinking odf placing a garage sale ad. 3 lines costs $54.
So I do think there is a place for QS but they need to make themselves known as I ran the name past some friends and none had heard of it.
I did have one thought and that was that buyers might do okay on QS as so far, not a lot of competition.

Just a quick question about Express Lister. I used that for my listings when I was selling there. Do you know if this is glitch free and whether if I updated it it would be worthwhile using it to list like using Turbo Lister on eBay.

Completely agree. There has to be a better way but where is it?

I think there is too much reliance on QS to be your go-to alternative other than eBay. Sadly it will unlikely work regardless on how you try. Its not about if sellers migrate to another wbsite then the buyers follow. eBay is well known for its cheapness and poor products are expected from the buyers. So they already KNOW, if they wanted something more genuine they probably would rather goto the real deal rather then geteting it off eBay.
In essence QS is pretty the same thing to eBay but with less items. Does a typical buyer really care about the points above said? It matters to the seller but really to the buyer... zilch..
What QS needs, is something extremely innovative to incite the buyers to migrate. Its like trying to get people to use Bing instead of GOogle or get people to use another socialising website other than Facebook. Its very difficult and eBay has the people power and they know it, thus we are forced to sway their way regardless knowing that the alternatives are probably less superior to them.
You would be best of selling on Amazon (though their tightassness are practically the same).
QS is just a dead zone, but they should incite more buyers into their website into QS rather than recruiting more sellers. Sellers will go where the buyer goes anyways as I learned in the online market world.

Perhaps a little lateral thinking is required. It would seem QS just aren't that interested. However looking to our good neighbours in New Zealand the story is almost the exact opposite. Ebay NZ runs a distant second to Trademe. It has 3.5 million members, 2.5 million listings, and 800000 visits a day. Bonus no Paypal. Listing is free and 7.9% FVF up to $200
Maybe its time they expanded there client base to Australia
Profanity is no substitute for wit.

Here is the response I got from QS. They replied in the same day too.
Thank you for your email.
At the moment we have a strategy in place to grow the quicksales domain authority and to drive more organic traffic to the website. We also have search engine marketing in place with Google and Bing.
This will help buyers and sellers become more aware of the quicksales brand.
We welcome your comments and have now marked them to the attention of management for their further consideration.
Thanks again for your feedback!
