fair or unfair trading?

I was surprised & disappointed to see other seller's similar items advertised by eBay BETWEEN my listing's details/price and my item's DESCRIPTION. This is effectively in the body of an advertisement I will be paying $200 plus for, (should my item sell)....that is, if a viewer doesn't abandon MY listing for that of an eBay advertised competitor in the same selling market. I can accept this being shown AFTER my description, but before it, in the middle of my ad? NO! I have a real problem with this & see it as unfair trading practice. Has anyone else found a way around this?

On the page is a link Feedback on our suggestions click on that and let it be known how you feel but also remember that your listing will be showing on their listings as well.

same if you advertise in the newspaper or weekly magazine, you have no say over who else advertises on the same page.

I agree with the original poster.

To place an advert inside an advert is not done anywhere else.

You place a line or display advert in the paper and nobodies advert appears inside your advert.

I am also annoyed by flashing adverts of any type in listings as I waste my time scrolling past adverts of no interest to me.

For instance when I am revising adverts for my magazines I do not want to be distracted by adverts for the Ghan holidays.

These are only showing up because a guest at Christmas time wanted to see the price of a train holiday to Darwin.

She has booked , travelled and is now soaking up the sun in Darwin and now I am being bombarded with travel offers.

It is enough to put you off buying anything so these adverts annoy me immensely.

And to see a competitor featured in your advert is even more annoying.

I hate pop ups, inserted adverts and featured listings or sponsored adverts as they were supposed to keep costs down but the opposite has happened.

We now have lower conversion rates because people are driven away from our adverts by pop ups etc

Our listings and FVF cost significantly more \

and we suffer more from non payers etc.

no value in it for me.

i am probably one of the few that it mostly works for my advantage as i sell like new dvds. so when there new dvds show at $20 or $30 and mine at $5.

helps with my sales.
