flat rate post boxes?

Hi, I've been looking at postal boxes for sale and my reading of the descriptions is that you can buy boxes that are flat rate not assessed on weight. Does anyone use these?

Re: flat rate post boxes?

There are 3 different box sizes you can use in conjunction with Click & Send, and they have a 15kg weight limit for each size. The boxes are sold via the Aus Post eBay store, online (at Aus Post), or can be bought at a Post Office (unlike the satchels).

Edit: Here's a link to the eBay store, which has more info about the boxes + pricing etc: http://stores.ebay.com.au/australiapoststore/pages/australia-post-store-boxes

That sounds like such a good option. I asked at my post office yesterday and the guy said there was nothing like that in store and he wouldn't know about them.

Re: flat rate post boxes?

Yes, we use them a lot. You can ship up to 15kg for a flat-rate Australia wide.

The boxes are available for purchase at the PO or from the Aus Post website. Postage is paid through Click and Send by creditcard or PayPal and you print the shipping label and attach to the box. When you take the box to the PO the label barcode is scanned and you receive a lodgement receipt. There is also an option to pay for courier pickup.

Current prices are

Bx1 $7.15 plus the cost of the box

Bx2 $11.70 plus box

Bx4 $15.05 plus box

Re: flat rate post boxes?

I've been using boxes of the same dimension as the "official" post office boxes and my post office has been accepting them. Still using the flat rate codes.

Do we have to use the "official" boxes?
