I noticed the "free listing up to 3 times" check box had vanished in my own options and queried this with eBay who explained it was a feature only made available to new sellers for a limitied time, after which it was eventually disabled. Despite having mostly postitive experiences selling, I haven't listed anything new since and am still on the fence about whether, as a casual seller moving some second-hand stuff at prices that tend to be token values, it's worth the effort to load something in if it's only going to stay up for 7 days. It's a no brainer that paying relisting fees for casual, low-price sellers is probably a silly risk to take. Great way to eat into any money you may happen to have made on lines that did move.
On the 40 free listings, why can't automatic relisting remain active? More time to sell through - and I have no problem with eBay taking a percentage of something that has sold - would benefit everyone wouldn't it? Time to look at your pics with fresh eyes, rethink descriptions, even to review the price in week 3 if need be. But such is life.
