have got a shocking buyer

Hi i had a buyer ask for my compression expensive kids 2xu top cheaper.  I accepted she then.... asked for it to go express post.  Ive had a hectic day but drove with my petrol to the post office especially to send it off for her.  Bit annoyed as i wouldnt have bothered accepting cheap price if i knew this.

Added measurements but now she is getting funny because it doesnt fit her son.  The long sleeves are too short for him and abit loose.

I said she can send the top back but it wouldnt be worth it as im not going to pay for her postage as the item is not faulty or broken just doesnt fit her son.  I said she can use my photo and sell it on but she doesnt want to.  OH MY GOODNESS i wish there was a scanner to auto block these kind of buyers arggghhh.

so my question surely ebay/paypal wont go on her side.  if they do goodbye selling here as this is a joke

Re: have got a shocking buyer

Was your top advertised as "Make an offer".

If not and she just messaged you, asking for a discount, then that would ring a slight warning bell for me. I think it indicates someone who only sort of wants the item. They wouldn't be happy paying full price. And when you lower the price for them, that confirms it to them that it was overpriced.

Did the buyer actually pay extra for express post? The reason I ask is because you say you would not have taken the cheaper price offered if you had known that. I get the feeling she got that as an added free extra. You would have been within your rights to say no, the price included the postage as advertised and express post would cost an extra however many dollars.

Block her from buying from you again and just do as digital ghost says-compose a message offering her a return (at her own expense) and stick to it. At the moment she thinks you're a pushover. There are some people like this who, once they get their own way, don't feel grateful, it just fuels their sense of entitlement.

Just be polite, but firm and as DG says, stick to your script.

Re: have got a shocking buyer

I have an express postage option on all my listings that I charge extra for. Since it's on the listings, they know upfront how much extra it is. About 1 in 400 customers buy express.

It sounds to me like she is really just angling for a further discount. Stick to your guns, use a canned response like digital ghost suggested,

yes i had make an offer. I keep the make an offer on as i get alot that make an offer even more than my asking price. Oh yes i made sure she paid for express post and charged her for it. She has ceased communication since last night so hopefully she can see how silly she has been

Take the emotion out of it.

Walk away, dont respond straight away.
