I sell in the collectables category mostly and on a much smaller scale, jewellery category (just bits and pieces). I didn't hesitate to list one day auctions as majority of my auctions sell with only one bid. I always start them at the lowest amount I'll accept. I also list with a BIN option. Every sale this weekend was auction. Most of the bids came in the last few minutes. It partly proved my theory that auction buyers tend to search by time ending soonest.
For all the ones that didn't sell, they were all relisted tonight back to normal duration (7 or 10 days) with the 3 free relists. It was hard work as over 2 accounts I had around 150 one day auctions. The ones I listed on Thursday night I ticked the 3 relists, but the ones listed Friday and yesterday, I left the box unticked as I didn't want them to auto relist tonight. I was revising and relisting as they ended tonight, so there was a few hours taken up. I had one account revising on the computer and the other on the phone. It was easier to do it that way rather than going from browser to browser all the time. I could actually have 2 revisions/relists going at the same time.
The hard work paid off though. I sold 48 things, which is huge for me. Normally if I sell 5 over a weekend I think I'm doing well!

Thank you for sharing. You must be exhausted! I'm pleased all of your hard work paid off for you.
Just curious, are you a store seller, or a seller who relies on ebay for income, or just a seller of personal items, a la garage sale type of thing like me?

Not a store seller and I work 4 days a week. EBay is just to help pay the bills so more of my regular income is mine. I started off selling some personal items. Plus, I'd bought a heap of stuff to sell at the Sunday markets, but then the Sunday markets shut down. I had no other way of getting rid of all the stuff, so decided to sell it on here. I was enjoying selling on here, so started buying stuff to resell.
I could never do eBay full time. It's too volatile. I've heard too many horror stories on here from full time sellers. Plus, I like my regular job.
