have had someone contact me in regards to something I am selling, as per below. have obviously told them no I will not do that. The question is though, how do I report this person? they havent technically purchased anything from me, but either way seems dodgy...
how to report them?
Hi Good afternoon,
I saw in your FAQ you do not ship internationally, but I still wants to try if you may consider :-).
I'm living in the Netherlands and very interested in this set.
If it may be difficult via ebay (i experienced myself as well with selling) and there are no bids, I'm also willing to buy afterwards, pay via paypal or bank transfer and after receipt of payment, you can ship them (should be possible within a letter) for 18.40 AUD.
Will await your reply.
Kind Regards,

From memory - items still cannot be posted in envelopes - all must go as parcels - Internationally.
It has been this way since Covid.
Due to the lack of flights internationally.
Let me know when they change this - it will be of benefit - things that went OS for $3.50 - now cost at the cheapest $21.

International flights are back to normal. There are no issues there.
And yes, I made a mistake. It was $18.40, not $8.40. I misread. I still wouldn't be posting those items in an envelope.

Whether it is a scam or not is a moot point but retired sets has already said no, so that is that.
Personally, I think if a person doesn't wish to sell internationally, then that is fine as sending overseas definitely carries more risk for the seller if things go wrong & if the buyer is unhappy.
The part I would be annoyed at though would be the hint that it may be difficult via ebay and perhaps it could be sold privately afterwards. If ebay gets a whiff of that, the seller could be in trouble too, so I think a clear no answer was the best way to go.

The flights may be back to normal.
Pre Covid - for many years I sent small items as a letter.
In a padded bag - Air Mail - this had to be accompanied by the ' green customs form ' - cost was $3.50 - no tracking.
Even tried without the ' green form '.
Please note - only documents - printed material only - may be sent as letters - large small - or - otherwise - now.
My PO does stick to this.

I get a lot of small items from the UK in padded envelopes - cheap and quick. The purchase I made on the 28th of December and that I mentioned in another thread arrived yesterday - pretty good considering the holidays, the backlog etc. I paid about $9 for three small items.

Royal Mail may do it - Aust Post doesn't.

When speed isn’t the highest priority, and what you are sending is of low value so you don’t need tracking, choose our International Economy service.
Economy air -
International Economy - Australia Post (auspost.com.au)

This is eBay - tracking is a huge bonus.
And still between $15 & $16 to UK - US.
And - I suppose never having used it eBay does not list it as an option - will have to check.
Even when using the option standard parcel - it includes tracking automatically.

The choice is there - 11-35 days - no tracking.
The bottom one listed.

There used to be a 'merchandise letter" option for sending small items in a padded envelope, but it hasn't been available since covid began and isn't likely to return.
The cheapest option for Auspost international economy (untracked) only allows up to 50g...which doesn't hold much. For the same weight bracket starting from 250g, international standard (with tracking) is $4 more.
