Dear buyer,

I am sorry the item might not make it in time for the Birthday BUT the date of birth has been known since the child was born and it falls at the same time every year, and it is NOT my fault that you choose to leave buying presents till too late and them blame others for lack or organization.

As you stated you work for Aust Post so you should know how long items can take to reach the destination and these times can and do vary a lot.

Just a heads up Christmas this year will be on the 25th December so please ensure all purchases are done allowing time for the item to arrive BEFORE Christmas to avoid disappointment of the child and to avoid the need to loose it at the seller for your lack of preparation and items not arriving in time.

Thank you.

Have a Merry Xmas and wishing a great day for your child's birthday 🙂

Nice letter sparklz :^O

Seriously though, I bought a mobile phone holder recently and it took two weeks Sydney to Sydney.  I think the seller stressed about it more than I did. They offered to send a replacement, but then it magically arrived.  I was a bit concerned though that my husband would be fined for touching his phone while driving with the new law. That would be much worse than giving a gift a day or two late.

One year I gave my sister a picture of the item I purchased for her for Christmas.  It arrived a few days later and I posted it on to her.

People are so impatient these days.

]Well, just one problem. it may be better to say "buyers" instead of sellers.  🙂

I am glad that you got it sorted out OP.

However as a buyer only, I still think that the postage and handling can take up to 5 days can be misinterpreted.

I have brought lots of items where there is a handling time given, but the majority of times the item has turned up before the handling time is over, so I and I am sure that other buyers look at the handling time as only a guide and sellers pad the handling time out, just to be safe incase something happens.

To me the best thing you could do, is in big letters, write at the top of your auction

I AM ONLY ABLE TO POST ITEMS ON FRIDAYS

That way there will be no misunderstandings at all.

I would even recommend a time on fridays, as in " i only post on fridays for items that have been won and paid for on or before thursdays "

and would even go further and make sure you dont have any auctions that end on a friday, otherwise people might think you will send it that day if they win and pay instantly
