if you have sold coins to me in the last ten years please contact aaaa3556

Hi

I am asking for a very big favour as my house has been burgled and the insurance company is requesting proof of purchase.  Would you please check if you have ever sold me any coins or banknotes. The coins would have been in rolls or commemorative issues. The type of proof needed is photos, receipts and/or purchase history.  I know this might be a big job as it is going back over ten years for some of you but if you can help in any way, it would be very much appreciated.

Thank You

aaaa3556

James

If you paid with paypal for any of the coins you will have your receipts in your paypal account all the way back to your first transaction.

You can hardly expect sellers to keep your records for you, and to go to all the trouble of searching their records for the past 10 years.

Unless people keep hard copies of transactions, they would only have a record for the last 60 days, as they disappear off the seller list automatically after that.

Check in the archived section of your purchase history. Mine goes back to 2012, I don't know if 2 years is the archive limit. It won't show you photos, but there should be a description and price for what you paid. It might help with some of your later purchases.

I keep most of my coins and bank notes in a safe. It's a decent sized one that I got from Bunnings for about $150. It needs both a key and a PIN/password. I still have some in boxes in the cupboard as my safe is full and I haven't bought another one yet. At this stage, I keep the most valuable ones in the safe, just in case. It weighs a ton, so would take at least 2 strong men to lift it. I know it's probably shutting the gate after the horse has bolted, but could be a worthwhile investment when you get a new collection.

Good luck with it all.

Have you checked your emails?  If you don't usually delete ebay emails, you may have copies of emails relating to your purchases.

If you paid via direct deposit, maybe you can look at your old statements for payments made for purchases.

Considering your coins are worth enough to ensure, perhaps, it might be a good idea to start keeping records of purchases accompanied by payment receipts.   You could also create an email folder in which you keep a copy of all emails relating to purchases.
