It depends on what you are selling, the weight and size of parcel and the destination. Some countries do not have an Australia Post tracking service at all. This includes some Latin American and South African countries where the postal services are considered unreliable.
For most large letters and small parcels up to 2 kg. Australia Posts "pack and track" is usually very competative and the service I use most of the time for international parcels with tracking. Quite often International Registered mail is a similar price. This often has signiture on delivery, but not always tracking, so best to check with the PO.
If you want a recomendation, pack and track is the service I use and always keep a handfull of blank " pack & track" sheets on hand to fill in before going to the post office.
Australia Post also has pre paid large letters and small satchels in various weight ranges ( up to around 2 kg. ) for international parcels. These include tracking, but are not available to all countries. These are usually competativly priced.
It is probably best to go to the Australia Post website and have a look at the postage calculator. This will provide all of the options, the features and costs.
Having said this I send over half of my international parcels without any tracking and have VERY FEW problems. Basically anything with a combined item and postage cost under $60 goes untracked.
