buyer buys my item, i send it to his PO Box.

with tracking.

it was showing it was delivered to his PO Box at 6:59am today awaiting collection.

i presume that means the box being too big for his PO Box it was carded for pickup inside the PO.

now the guy is claiming he didnt collect it, someone else must have.!!!

how do i handle this?

That's exactly what I thought.

They're not expecting the seller to do anything or take any responsibility, they are only trying to find out if there is any way they can positively identify the item.

I wouldn't be surprised if they sent the message via a phone. People often only send short messages when they have a small screen. Trouble was,  it was too short & lacking detailed explanation, though they probably thought it was crystal clear.

maybe my brain just couldnt comprehend someone spending $125 on an item and then after collecting it at the post office  'leaving' it somewhere in a shopping center?

and as the original message was a little odd i thought perhaps english wasnt the guys first language.

having read so many horror stories on the boards i just assumed the guy was trying it on.

i should have messaged him right away to clarify his story.

but i did the second best thing, i came here and got very good advice (as usual) and figured it out.

i'm really sad the guy has lost his item, very doubtful the police will recover it.

again i thank all the very helpfull posters here on the boards.

I've accidentally left a company laptop on the train, and at least three or four bags of shopping on the bus over the years; accdientally leaving a box somewhere isn't something I find hard to believe.

 Oh i think worse things have been done.

I read that one of the people in WW2, who was in on the planning of the Normandy invasion, had some strategic papers on him, presumably in a briefcase, when he went to the movies and left the case behind.

Luckily someone saw it and it was given back to him without anyone opening it.
