looking for oversea ebay seller to sell my product

Hello

I am wanting to find sellers on other international ebay sites eg UK, Germany, USA to sell my products.

Can someoneplease tell me how I go about looking for distributors as such in other countries/ebay sites?

Do I post an ad on the community board to ask for inquiry?  Are there things that I should be aware of and what to be aware of as far as cons/fraudulant sellers?

Your advice/help in guiding me is very much appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Kim

I have a Fitbit.   I've also known people to lose their Fitbit when they put them

in non-branded straps.    Expensive lesson.

Why do you want to pay someone else to sell your items?

You can either list on the international sites yourself or just list on the Australian site and offer international postage.

If you decide to list on the overseas sites you will have to do a bit of research....different sites have different rules.

I think they already do that because one item I clicked on was in UK pounds. One thing I did notice about the listings, they are keyword spamming brand names. I'm not sure any seller in their right mind would sell their own manufactured products using someone else's trademarked name (e.g fitbit). I would have assumed with the amount of feedback they have they would know you can't say something is a fitbit when it's not. Oh well, eBay normally catches up with people who do that. Even more so since they outed themselves on the forums.

Thank you for your reply.  I already do sell on ebay UK and ebay USA but would prefer to have someone based there as I believe that more people would buy the products if local?  The products are my own inventions (accessories) and are trade marked.  I am just wanting to capture a larger market thats all.

But thank you once again

That's actually precisely why it's against eBay policies, and can also get you in trouble with the brand names you mention in some cases (since those brand names are also trademarked, and you're trying to capitalise on their branding).

Because searches on ebay are keyword based most of the time, when someone looks specifically for a branded product, they only want to see that brand. As an example of why eBay introduced the policy, I prefer to buy genuine branded ink for my printer, but if I type [brand] ink cartridge into the search bar, the results are full of generic refills and it's annoying to wade through (this can work against you sometimes). Some sellers have even taken to putting "Non genuine" in their titles, so I can't even use "genuine [brand] ink cartridge" as a search term without seeing generic non-branded stuff.

I'm not sure if trading assistants will take on international stock (trading assistants are local eBay sellers who will list and sell on behalf of others), but you can always ask.  http://pages.ebay.com.au/tradingassistants/hire-trading-assistant.html

Warehouse distribution is another option, not sure how cost effective it is though.

I gathered that, but you aren't allowed to use brand names to sell them, unless you own the brand. You can't say it suits a fitbit, nor can you put fitbit in as the brand name. The brand name should be your brand name, not someone else's. You could call them Strapbit activity tracker bands, and put your brand name in as the brand. Some will buy them thinking they are genuine fitbit products when they're not.

I understand you have designed your items to fit these products, but you aren't allowed to use their name to sell them. I know you want them to show up if someone searches fitbit, but you can't do it. It's called keyword spamming and is a policy violation. EBay could well shut you down if someone reports all your listings. Not to mention you risk getting bad feedback if someone takes exception to them not being genuine fitbit products.

Maybe you should list them as 'suitable for use with Fitbit'    or Garmin or whatever

But you can't call them by the brand name.   That's a no-no

Tippy, I thought   'suitable for use with......'   would be ok?
