managed payments and personal information.

Is it true that to sign up for managed payments, eBay demands heaps of personal information, and also we have to once again prove who we are and upload bank account details etc, etc. All of this personal informtion is then sent to a third party which eBay is then not responsible for. I would like to hear from those who have already signed up, as to whether this is true or not.

A valid point too wackojacko94.  I can see this with those people who had the "power seller" status. Yes, some will def be leaving as you say. And "Big Game" sellers. One chap I know, I have a feeling he'll be closing up as well.

Not a valid point

eBay nixed the 'power seller' status a couple of months  ago

At least get one basic fact right, please

People always say stuff like this as though they think eBay didn't factor this into their decision making.

Every single time a business makes a significant change to the way they operate, they know full well that they will lose customers. eBay is no different - look up "seller churn", or just "churn" itself as a business phenomenon. They know about it, they expect it, they plan for it.

Hi, I was just reading your comment on the discussion board in regards to

having to upload my photo ID. Iv'e been selling and buying on ebay for

15yrs. I dont drive or have a passport, so I had to pay $114.00 for a birth cert. plus marriage cert. to enable me to get a photo ID which cost $29.

went to upload it to Ebay, but theres only the option for a bloody drivers licence

or passport. do you or anyone know how i upload it. my funds are on hold till I

send it to them. talk about loyalty lol. there is none.

And again, how would you know - if they HAD it and are gone now ? What, do you keep a running diary of sellers ? LOL

Oh, and the Circle reference is really old now - you should stop being so bent out of shape just because you were denied access to the group when you applied. Honestly, time to move on and sob in private

Australian here. I think I've sold 2 items in the last 12 months but because I have no driver's licence (I'm leg-disabled) and no passport, I'm being cut off the abilityto sell ANYTHING from Ebay. Only been a great customer of Ebay's since 2006.  In the text chat the guy said I can use my medicare card but they followed up with a phone call, and the woman on the phone said they only accept D/L or Passport. Even though someone in text chat from Ebay said just moments earlier I can use my Medicare card, which is a government-issued ID. And I have a "proof of age" ID which is identical to driver's licence except it never expires - it has all the same security a driver's licence has here in Australia and last week 2 police officers accepted it for ID but Ebay can't? Webpage says "Government regulations require these details so we can send you payments." but on the phone the rep said it's their payment processor who needs it- so which is it? When I joined EBay in 2006 they WERE the payment processor.

I'm screwed! I have nothing except disability pension and they're taking my ability to sell anything away.

Have you tried using your proof of age card? If it's in the same format as a DL, it should work. For some States.
