need help to lift limit on paypal account !!

Hi guys

I opened a business paypal account a while ago.

When the amount hits $1000, they asked me to upload personal ID and proof of address, I did, limit lifted.

Then guess what, 5 mins later my account was limited again, says I need to upload business documentations this time.

I don't even understand what exactly they are asking for, something like "The Certificate of Registration", "business documents", "Certificate of incorporation - company", what are these??

I'm a sole trader, all I got is a ABN.

What to do now.... please advise....

... and get an independent audit of your accounts every year as part of your ASIC compliance.

For a simple business, probably only a couple of grand for an hour's work.

Yes I was referring to an ebay account about the limit, this is the ebay forum isn;t it.

I registered a business so I know a little, although not much, the process at least.

As to why the information requested by ebay and/or paypal is garbage. It is mostly redundant and why did I never have to supply it?

Like I said before I have never had to supply any documents and have a business account with paypal.

Track record of $$ transactions is a factor that may be taken into consideration.

Volume and dollar value of turnover through account may be taken into consideration.

A host of other reasons including due digligence, Oz legislation etc etc  most of them pretty much commonsense given the potential for online scamming.

IMO your observation is correct Dylan, and not all eBay or paypal accounts have been/will be subject to a standardised verification process, but nonetheless both eBay and Paypal have terms of use conditions that IMO amply cover a request for verification of identity (at any point of service contract).

I personally wish they would ramp up both services identification verification requirements.
