negative feedback

I just sold an item and the buyer is yet to receive the item.  She has left negative feedback by saying this - my bid was hirer then what the item sold for. So I am not happy...is this justified?  Thanks

Oh dear... Robot Frustrated

It seems likely that the buyer doesn't understand they actually won the item and they don't have to pay as much as their maximum - definitely not a justified neg, for obvious reasons.

I would take a deep breath, calm myself, put on my best customer service face and send them a polite message to try and sort it out.

Edit: If you can get the buyer to realise they've won the item at a lower price than their maximum bid etc, you can ask them to revise their feedback. Make 100% sure they understand what to do when they receive the request, though.

How could she think that she did not win it?

I have no idea Smiley Surprised, but I'm a relatively rational person so it makes more sense (to me) than negging someone for not being able to pay as much as you wanted to.

The buyer has 7 FB, no idea what their full bid / purchase history is, but I've seen members with much higher FB scores that don't quite understand some of the basics, sadly.

The buyer has probably put a comma instead of a full stop when placing their bid therefore making their maximum bid much higher than what they intended to bid.

If you ring ebay tomorrow I think you will find that it will be removed.

Hmm, could be, but to me it looks like the buyer is saying that their bid was higher than what the item sold for, rather than they didn't bid as much as what it sold for - eg they bid say $100 but won it for the $67-odd, but if they intended to bid say $10, it would be "my bid was lower than what they item sold for"...

All speculation, anyway, and either way the neg should go.

Do you know if she (?) bid on another item of yours, and was outbid? Then it could make sense, in a disgruntled way.

sometimes bids placed near the end are not in time, and she may have thought you refused her bid, when she lost that other item to someone who paid less.

and left revenge feedback for this item.

just another thought...

Or...did you just sell two similar ones, one to her, and one to someone else for less?

then she may think she paid too much for hers, being a higher bid than the other sold for.

and feel put out by spending more.

again, not a justifiable neg, but makes sense in a weird way, if one thinks that way 😞
