Now I'm thoroughly confused. The bags I ordered arrived today but as you can see from the attachment, they're not from Sydney Water. In fact, the envelope came from Dooleys, which as you can see from the enlarged image, is the Lidcome Catholic Club! Stealing their envelopes and reusing them is hardly the most Christian act IMO. 🙂
Same method - slit end then taped together once the contents have been inserted, and an address sticker pasted over the envelope's window. Quite an enterprising little sod, isn't he, but I have to wonder how the hell he's getting his hands on so many different organisations' used envelopes. I can't imagine they're his own that he's been saving over a period, so I'm at a loss to explain where he's getting them from.
I haven't left any feedback yet, but I'm very tempted to mention the fact that he's using misappropriated prepaid envelopes, and possibly even reporting his activities to eBay (who probably won't do anything about it anyway). Maybe Australia Post would be the best people to approach? Dunno, I'll have to think about it.

Their local AP outlet might be interested to know who's posting used envelopes with no postage, but he may not post them locally (eg. if he works in another suburb).
It'd be easy enough to get a few friends to collect envelopes for you. I keep all my envelopes to use for scribble paper, and so does my local library. I don't know that they ask people to save scrap paper for them but when I was there showing them a letter I got from their head office they said they'd be happy to take it and the envelope off my hands to use for notepaper.

hi cq those plastic bags are available at a lot of $2 shops , I used to get them in a4 size, anyway he only has a few lines, going on his feedback prob does 20 pieces a month ,most people would get maybe 5 to 10 envelopes a month ,so maybe a couple of other family members collect them for them and thats why 2 sydneywater bills ,but who knows ,
so how do they get thru the post, mmmmm
to bake it looks like 3 envelopes have been used twice, maybe we need more posterrs spending $1 and see what envelope they get.

Incidentally, although the bags provided are very useful, they are not reusable press-seal bags but empty commercial retail bags which have not yet been stuffed and sealed, and neither have I ever seen them available for retail sale, so my bet is that he's knocking these off as well and selling them.
The plot really thickens doesn't it. I'd have to guess the envelopes are all from his own mail.
I'm curious tho cq - what are 'empty commercial retail bags' ?
And I'd lay odds he's knocking off everything he sells - just gotta wonder why at such low prices ?

joe, I use Best Offer on my items & although I don't, it is possible to set a minimum amount you will accept. If a buyer offers below the set figure, the system automatically rejects the offer. Sounds to me like he has it set at $1 hoping buyers will offer more. I did read somewhere though that a Buyer cannot offer more than the BIN amount, although I did have it happen once on another ID years ago. I knew no better at the time, so I just accepted it
