obligatory Powerseller classification

I am outraged at what ebay has done by making me a power seller with out my consent, I've phoned customer support and let them have it, I'm now considering opening another account or more and alternating between them to avoid the power seller classification, what other company disadvantages their regular uses like this, specifically not being given the option of 30 free listings.

DON'T ACCEPT THIS, phone customer support and voice your dissatisfaction.

Read what Jen wrote. And you can't really claim no warning. The parameters are quite clear. Unless you never look at your seller dashboard.

Enquire about this and watch the answer you (don't) get.

People generally want to do the right thing,especially where tax is concerned so wouldn't you expect a direct answer from Ebay on this topic,so you are able to make the right decision (including forward calculations etc) based on the information supplied?

If i am wrong on this,please,please,someone prove it to me 'cause i can't get a direct answer from Ebay staff and i find this extremely important (as would many others).

Not sure what PS status and the ATO have to do with each other.

Every year the ATO tell ebay what level of turnover they want reported, it used to be $75,000 but went down to, from memory, $20,000.

Having PS status is meaningless, if you sold two old cars for $10,000 each then your details would be passed to the ATO. of course you would not owe any tax on it but if you are selling things you have purchased for resale you had better make sure you keep accurate records so you can include it all in your tax return if your turnover is going to be anywhere near the limit (which could be lower next year)

Same thing has just happened to me recently.

Wasn't this part of a fee structure change that also included a rise in fv fees?

Powerseller status also is reliant on high customer satisfaction ratings so this means that sellers who are NOT giving excellent customer service are rewarded with 30 free listings a month.

zjooj.... this thread is a couple of years old, and topic has been gone over hundreds of times.

you were a casual seller, you tried their free trial (30 per mnth), you did well, you sold stuff...good on you!

now, the free trial period is over for you and you have to pay fees like the majority of ebayers.
