Why do so many buyers wait 3-4 days to pay for something (by Paypal) that costs $1.50?

Waiting til payday?  lol Drives me nuts!

I agree that its disgraceful that people take 3-4 days (sometimes up to 8 days.. or not at all) to pay for items.

eBay isnt a lay-by or raincheck service

really .... "disgraceful that people take 3 or 4 days"

my goodness .... as a buyer I am insulted by this comment.

I often don't pay a seller until day 3 or 4 after my original purchase  - I use this time to check out if a seller lists other items I might be interested in purchasing to take advantage of combined post.

Or if I am very busy (which I frequently am) wait til I am less busy to look through their other listings at a more leisurely pace.

Still don't understand if it is annoying to the OP or others on this thread why don't they just list with immeadiate payment required.

Seems to be a hiatus here. Immediate payment precludes combined postage.

Oh well, I don't believe anybody has accused a cat of being logical or consistent.

For obvious reasons, I can't speak for the OP, but I can speak for myself... and TBH I took the OP as mostly facetious, based on a minorly irksome eBay occurrence. The kind that you don't even think about much at all until it happens for the 1000th time, you notice, and just go "why do people do that". I may be putting too much (or not enough Smiley LOL ) stock in it, but I'm basing this on the title of the thread, primarily. I got the impression it was - in part - mimicry, or a text version of a #firstworldproblems meme.

I have the same kinds of irks as a seller, many of which I have mentioned on the boards countless times, with varying degrees of seriousness. Non-payers irk me, but I don't require immediate payment (even though I could) because I want to offer certain things to buyers that do pay which IPR often precludes. Notes to the seller during checkout (even very polite ones) that tell me when / how to post, or give me some other instruction that contradicts my terms bug me even more, and I've mentioned that here on occasion... but, even though I can, I don't block buyers from writing / saving messages during checkout, because sometimes I see the notifcation that the buyer left a message, and it's actually something important, or just a nice "thanks 🙂 "

I know these are the eBay forums, and as sellers we should present professionally private eBay seller reporting for duty, sir!  at all times, for our own sakes, but can we maybe also remember that discussion boards are inherently social, and forgive 😉 those that behave as though they are amongst friends and sometimes sigh in exasperation?

This issue was not raised as being linked to the annoyance of the OP.

Immeadiate payment does not always preclude multiple purchases with post discounts applied at checkout.

So you're off-topic?

Your inconsistent point scoring is showing once more. In the same thread.

Umm Cats there is no cart function on the ebay App. There might be using ebay mobile view but not the app as such.

Heres a larger view ..... clearly shows the cart .. and works fine for me on  i-phone 4 eBay app ~ which I might add is a relatively "older" device in the scheme of things. .

as a seller i am insulted that way too many buyers take their sweet time to pay for an item... or not pay at all... and it happened WAY too often

Just for the record when i had people paying 3-4 or 8 days after.. i hardly ever received a message from the buyer letting me know when (or if) they were going to pay, or their reasons... 95% of the time i would hear nothing at all even when i messaged them to remind them.

The sob stories or weak excuses i would get from buyers as to why they havent paid yet were amazing. I could write a book on them.

combining postage is a moot point for me as all my listings are free postage but i still dont see it as a valid point to make a seller wait 4 days for a payment. If your intention was to browse and buy more i assumed you would let the seller know that straight away so they knew you werent just another non payer? well i never had that so most of the time i would just be hoping they would pay

I am a firm believer that if you buy something, you pay straight away. I buy lots on ebay and i always pay straight away

I dont think its too much to ask. This is why i implemented the immediate payment option. Has it hurt my sales? not at all
