well you will need to engage a courier to deliver the chairs if Aust Post won't accept them.  There is a website that compares courier companies so that you seek out the cheapest, but cheapest isn't always the best.

Still doesn't excuse the delay in shipping once payment is made, and surely courier companies will be busy on Mondays delivering all the items that arrive at their depot over the weekend and picking up other items prepared over the weekend.  Ballaarat is one of Australia's largest inland cities/centres, surely it has depots for all the major courier companies, and as stated in a previous post, why not have the chairs in the system over a weekend so that they can travel over the weekend?

Spoiler
My spelling of Ballarat as Ballaarat is not a mis-spelling, it is the traditional spelling.  I have spent some time in Ballaarat (got married there as well) so I understand exactly where it is, how big it is etc etc.

Depends where you are tuesday /wednesday at the latest,we know that parcel post out of Ballarat is very poor.

so then post quicker, dont wait a week to post or your ebay selling carreer will probably be quite short lived

Re: postage

I think the purpose of the OP's post is just to advertise . Same identical post is also on another website .

I started thinking that too . . . . which is why I wrote it into a spoiler on post # 19.  The replies given to posts just don't add up for mine, too vague and wishy-washy (e.g. post #17 regarding parcel post out of Ballarat, yet items are too big for Australia Post post # 21)

Re: postage

let them advertise away:

1. no items

2. slow delivery (if and when they have any), as they are not listening to sound advice

works in their competitors favor, really.

Re: postage

So, if you have any lounge furniture to sell, PLEASE listen to all the good advice here.

On eBay, buyers who pay promptly, expect prompt shipping.

If you pack the items carefully, they should not be damaged while in the care of the shipping company, whether they hold them over a day or two or not. Which you really have no control over anyway, as how quickly items are moved depends on a lot of factors such as public holidays, and the volume of deliveries.

Just another vote for immediate postage/despatch of items people have paid for.

As sellers, we appreciate prompt payment, and all buyers (myself included) want their goods as soon as possible after payment.

I'm only a small seller but all my items are posted on the day of payment, or the following day if too late. More than 90% of my feedback mentions the quick delivery, but I still only crack 4.9 on the postage stars because people on the other side of the nation often blame me for logistics - imagine if I a person paid by e-cheque (a week to clear), then I posted another 5-6 days later, and then the item had to go from Brisbane to Perth. Factor in a public holiday or 2 and you're in strife.

You'd have cases opening up against you for "Item Not Received" hell, west and crooked! A few comments like that in your feedback and somebody labelling you as a "Crook - took my money and didn't send item" and your business is in the toilet no matter how good the product is - when it arrives.

The main drawback with buying on-line is that you can't take the goods home as soon as you pay, the least you can do is mitigate this with quick delivery. Any doubts, and people will go to a physical shop, or move on to a seller with good feedback about the product AND delivery.

Marina.
