Hi board buddies
I am using the ebay 'flat rate' parcel option for the first time, in this case a bx4 box and want to make
sure I am doing everything correctly. Clicking on 'Print postage label' (sold items/my ebay) seems to
take me to there.
I can not see an option to register a parcel, the only optional add-ons appear to be Signature on
delivery and extra cover - I will use both and absorb the cost myself.
Will using the online ebay label creation service be sufficient as 'proof of shipping' or do I need
to do something further at the Post Office?
Any feedback/tips on using this service? Am a little nervous but if it works will be keen to use it
again in future. Thanks in advance!

What is the value of the item?
You can select Extra Cover for $1.50 per $100 value (max $300 value) to cover for loss or damage without paying for Signature on Delivery. Signature on Delivery is $2.95.
When lodging at the Post Office you will receive a receipt to retain as proof of lodgement.

Does extra cover by itself include Signature on delivery? Or must I purchase Signature on delivery also?
I want to cover myself - does paypal/ebay require signature or only Proof of shipping?
Value of item is between $200 to $300 so trying to determine exactly what I need to obtain
and what I am covered for. Thanks.
This is where I get confused because with registered you are automatically covered up to $100
and extra cover is considered beyond the $100...

There is no longer a Registered Post option with parcels, only letters, and they still include up to $100 extra cover.
Signature on delivery for parcels provides no insurance for loss or damage.
With parcels you can purchase extra cover for items valued up to $300 (with no signature on delivery) for $1.50 per $100.
Or purchase signature on delivery for $2.95 plus extra cover $1.50 per $100 value.
PayPal Aus requires proof of shipping, not proof of delivery but for an item over $200 I would send with SOD and extra cover.

So for extra cover on an item between $200-$300 I would need 3 x $1.50? Plus another $2.95 for SOD?
Is this clearly marked on the parcel, I would hate for it to be overlooked? I have not seen what these
ebay labels look like.

Yes, if you want to insure for $300 and send with SOD it would cost $4.50 + $2.95.
There is no marking on the label to show that you have purchased insurance, but there is a very small signature on delivery icon. I add my own BIG red sticker that says Signature on Delivery required, just to make sure the postie doesn't miss it.

Do they have any SOD stickers at the PO?

Thanks for your help earlier, bigbrickshop. Parcel packed and label printed. Was pretty straightforward and will probably use again.
Label does need a larger "Sign on delivery" icon - or sticker as you are doing.
