"Views" counter shows own views.

Every time I view my own item, the counter goes up. It's very annoying . This only seems to have happened recently. Is there any way to prevent this from happening?

Don't view your own items. Why do you need to? Even once is probably once too many.

I check mine from time to time just to see if I've missed any errors or if there is anything that needs to be updated (not so much on this account as it's just a hobby account, but I do it fairly frequently on my main ID).

I also get friends/family members to look over my listings occasionally just to see if they could make any recommendations from a buyers perspective.
