If you have sold a item, with a postage amount specified ( in this case $65 due to it being a bulkier item ), and the buyer has elected to pick up the item, how does ebay then calculate the its fees. Surely they can't charge a fee on an amount that includes postage, when postage and pick up were an option in the listing, but in this case postage was not charged as buyer picked up. I couldn't seem to find anything in the ebay literature regarding this scenario.

I presume you need to invoice with a zero postage charge and then there wil be no extra fees to pay above that charged on the item price.

I had thought of that, but I had sent the invoice before I was aware that he was picking up......seeing as though his address was a good 700km either way.....plus ebay's 'send invoice' tag is just waiting to be clicked on once the auction is finished, to provide the seller with an amount upon which to make payment. Possibly it's all an elaborate plan by ebay to make as much money as possible? I'll see if I can review invoice, as I have already marked as paid.

I never send an invoice straight away unless a combined discount is involved, I keep it to send on day three with a polite reminder that if they do not pay up within 24 hours I will be opening a diispute.
As long as the buyer has not paid you can send a revised invoice, as far as I know that is what the fes will be based on, if it isn't I believe a phone call to ebay will sort it out.
I am not selling at the moment and most of my items are free post anyway so I have no experience of the fvf on delivery yet but am basing my answer on what other sellers have posted on the boards.

I had one the other day. Pickup, but total aggregated postage was $37.25. I just selected local pickup, set the postage to $0 and sent the invoice. When I marked payment as made, after they paid the cash and got their goods, I was not charged anything for the non-existant postage.
But I would be sending an invoice, as eBay are notorious for not using logic.
